If anybody is in any doubt about waterproofness of the HG sheltex performance  stuff, then don't be!
2 hours of torrential rain including 45 minutes stuck in the inside wave machine (lane )of the M1, TOTALLY dry! 2nd hand pair of Goretex AS gloves and AS Corozal (dead comfy!) boots also kept extremities dry.
This thing was a bargain.

+1 to Hein Gericke Sheltex suits. My old jacket went through 6 years 365 days of riding before letting water in. My rubbish RevIt Poseidon GTX jacket didn't even last 6 months/first heavy rain I rode in. Fortunately I was only going to the shops and not commuting for a couple of hours to meetings like I normally do. I'd definitely buy Hein Gericke again,  better quality for a lot less money.

I've just signed myself up for one years finance with SPORTSBIKESHOP for a new Furygan Jacket. I was looking for something that'll hopefully be as good as my HG trousers have been these past 5 or 6 years. Ironically I nearly bought the Poseidon GTX jacket UK_Vstrom650 is NOT recommending (bloody glad I didn't now  )

I have a summer jacket from Furygan which is good so I'm hoping this winter one will be too.

I do agree with your praise of HG stuff though

Great jackets and that looks great value, I have the same but with the previous versions Goretex liner.

I don't mind paying extra for Goretex as you do get a 5yr warranty.
