Screen spacer bodge, alternative to Madstad
« on: April 18, 2016, 10:33:26 »
I've seen several mentions of people adding washers or spacers to change the angle of their screen and also raise it off the fairing to allow more airflow underneath in order to combat buffeting. Similar concept to what the Madstad bracket achieves but without the easy adjustability (and big price tag).
Would be interested to hear from people who have done this - what bits did you use, how much space did you add at top and bottom holes and which height setting on the bracket? Do the spacers go between screen and bracket or between bracket and fairing? How much of a difference did it make to the buffeting?
I'm 6'5" and currently using standard Wee seat and OEM screen.

As promised here is the bracket that I've made and fitted today .... it's still in test phase and I have only has it on the bike for 1 h but for now I'm very impressed...
Ride with my visor up at 50mph and 65mph and no more buffeting...
There are some small changes to be made a small spacer , because in the lowest position it won't clear the dashboard...
And obviously paint it black ...

Cheers aleks ;)
