Palmer Products Screen Brackets
« on: November 24, 2015, 05:22:16 »
Greetings gents,
As predicted, I too am having some issues with the height and placing of the screen on my L5 650 Strom. In my search for a solution I came across the attached and would like to know if anyone out there has had any experience with Palmer Products.

I have one fitted on my new Honda  Crossrunner .. ( not strom) works well ...stands a long way off the body of the bike but gives a lot of adjustment variation and angles ... with my strom I had a vario screen and fitted the Cymarc satnav holder ( above clocks ) this really did a similar job in taking the screen away from the body of the bike so some flow went under and most over ... worked well too .. buffeting reduced significantly
my only comments on the specific issue of Palmer Products are 1) they make an accessory bar add on that goes across between the 2 brackets and can take a ram mount so again allows Sat Nav / phone holder etc above clocks .. 2) tighten up the adjusters regularly and fully ...lost one on first trip out and ended up buying a replacement set .£10.. 3)palmer service  ..excellent return of post with delivery / add ons and spares etc ..and 4) reply to emails ... quickly ...good company

Just put one on my Varadero.
Excellent.
Would echo everything the previous poster wrote.

I have one fitted to my Glee with a Givi airflow. I actually collected mine as they are not far from me in Braintree.

Three different height adjustments or 6 if you turn it upside down.
Get the one with the automatic adjusters (I didn't) as using a spanner
and allen key to adjust is a bit of a pain.

Had one on the glee. Works but ugly. Changed it for an Airflow. Worked but ugly. Changed for a standard glee vario. Works.

Many thanks gents. I bought the optional touring screen with my Strom and so hopefully the addition of the bracket will sort my buffeting issues.

Got one fitted to my glee.
Works well - has 3 height adjustments & 3 angle adjustments which gives 9 different positions. Not as adjustable as the madstad that I had on my Wee but still works fine.
Also got the Sat Nav mount bar which fits at the top & again works really well.

Hi gents,

Seasonal greetings to you.

As per my detailed requisition, Santa dropped a Palmer Products bracket set into my Christmas stocking. The product seems to be of a high quality although I would have liked the material to have been a little thicker.
I have now tried it on just 2 settings, highest mounting on bike, and lowest with medium tilt on the Palmer bracket and highest mounting on bike, lowest setting with no tilt on the Palmer bracket.
So far both settings have been satisfactory at 70 mph and on my next ride out I will try the medium height setting on the Palmer bracket to monitor the difference.

Hi looks very good, I wonder if they also fit my k7 1000 ? I will give them a ring after the holidays, they are local to me so I can collect. :)
