Welcome to the forum.

I recently passed my test as well (end of May), and got myself a V-Strom. The one I went for was the 650, as being new to biking I did not want anything too powerful. Have to say that I'm very happy with it and use it as my main vehicle now. Comute to work on it everyday (12 miles), and also use it for going to see mate some of which are over 100 miles away. Went to the folks on it last weekend, about 250 miles from mine. It had all the power that I needed, and also has the speed (well it won't go faster then 118 as the throttle will not turn anymore, and only on 9,000RPM). But then again, I do not want to ge going stupid speeds, knowing me I will just endup killing myself

Hi there!
Passed my test last month, test rode some others but bought a Vee straight away.
Best choice by far!
Don't worry about the weight I find it well balanced and easy to handle.
Go for it!

Welcome to the forum!

Mine's a 650, all the power and speed I am likely to need, even two-up.Cheaper on insurance too.
No bike at present.......

Hi and welcome

I dithered for ages about getting a vstrom, being 5"6 n a little bit, 12 stone !! but got one last week a 650 and LOVE it,  I now have a 1500 Intruder up for sale (had that bike for 2 years and done over 10,000 miles on her but I don't think I could ever go back to riding her!!)

the only thing I'm dithering about now is to lower it or not as I'm still a bit tipsy toesy....

Cheers
Will
