This is the very reason I retired from Sportsbikes 5 years ago, there but for the grace of God etc. etc..
My only problem with this kind of thing is when you see the "Police" type of shows on satelite TV, and some 17 year old kid with sh1t for brains leads police on a rampage while smoking a spliff in a stolen Nova, damaging property along the way, ultimately with no insurance, licence etc., and they say "The offender was fined £250, given 3 points on his licence (which he doesn't have anyway !) and banned for two years." IMHO, it's these numptys that need putting in prison, not blokes who ride too fast but might otherwise be honest, legal and tax-paying individuals - fine him £5,000, he almost certainly will sell the bike, and never do it again, but carry on going to work and paying his way in society.
