Nail in Tyre
« on: August 05, 2008, 08:56:38 »
OK seems that I have picked up a nail in my rear tyre. Tyre is still fully inflated and not gone flat, could of pick this up last week for all I know. I was just checking the tyres last night to see they where OK.

At the moment I'm still using the bike to get to work, but need to get this sorted before the weekend as I'm off up to the folks. Anyone know of a tyre place in Guildford (near the hospital) that I could get it repaired (if possible) or replaced. Failing places in Guildford, Farnborough would be great.

Cheers

Never thought about that.. but I am a member.

Got it sorted at Guildford Tyres, repaired it and cost me £34

The nail was in tight and there was not loss of air from the tyre, but when he pulled it out you could hear the air rushing out to freedom.

The AA were a life saver, (Sunday morning in the pissung down rain in the New Forest) and the tyre repair was all part of the service, no charge :)

RAC are excellent too, my Battlewing caught a screw 800miles from new and RAC man fixed it, gave the usual safety advice, "Only 40mph and change the tyre asap ...... but really it should last the life of the tyre but ssshhh" and 6100 miles from new never had a problem again with the repair

Whoo hoo!!

Grrr:-)
