Daft question?
« on: July 22, 2008, 16:10:16 »
OK I will take the consequential flak if deserved but here is the quesstion (non Strom related)

On the WIFES scoot it has tubeless tyres, during a bit of over enthusuastic test riding yesterday I managed to push the tyre off of the rim enough to break the seal   it did pump up again but I'm not happy with the fact that it was pretty easy to do....So, is it OK to put an inner tube into a tubeless tyre?

Hi, There was a Wee-Strom on Ebay recently that had had a 'dink' on the front wheel and he had fitted a tube and run quite some way with it tubed. I would say yes it is possible but I am not sure it would solve the problem. I had a 125 Pantheon before getting my Wee so I won't tease!
No bike at present.......

When I was racing Supermoto, we always ran innertubes in 'tubeless' tyres (altho you had to due to spoked wheels  ) so no 'danger ' element involved in doing it!

I would say no problem although the purists might disagree. My F650 had tubeless tyres on spoked wheels and so had to have an inner tube. It's quite a common fix for punctures.
