Does anyone use an Autocom system?

where have you fitted it, I've moved the toolkit and fitted it in the toolkits place using the rubber strap to secure it, Anyone got any better ideas??

Can one of the bluetooth reciever adaptors be used on it to get Bluetooth from my tomtom to my autocom headset, I don't have a headphone outlet on my tomtom power connector(Pattern cheapo ebay part )

I've got a TomTom Rider 2, but can't speak for the Rider 1.

Under the seat, in the storage compartment between the toolkit and the battery.  Loads of space.  PMR radio fits there, too.

Yes, you pair the TomTom to the Autocom dongle instead of your phone, if you use it.  If you still want to use your phone, pair that with your TomTom.

The genuine TomTom cradles don't have audio output, either.  Design flaw IMO.

Fitted my aux distribution panel in that space!

I got my stuff from Chainspeed.  The bloke used to work for Autocom, and was very helpful when I spoke to him.

I used a small distribution box from Touratech, which sticks to the outside of the storage compartment, facing the battery.

Why do people use Autocoms??  once I pull that helmet on and fire the bike up I'am in a little world of my own and nothing is going to disturb me, or I'am I missing something

Three reasons for me:

1. So I can hear my TomTom, instead of having to look at the screen.
2. So I can communicate bike-to-bike with ride-out mates (the safety benefits of this alone are enormous - I've been on a few ride-outs where the bike in front has put themselves in an uncomfortable situation that I could see developing from where I was further back).
3. So I can communicate comfortably with my pillion.

They're not for everyone, and I don't always use it, but I wouldn't be without it.

Just like GrandadsV I can't bear the thought of people yakking at me when I am on my bike also my satnav don't talk. Oh and I hate riding in groups as as well. Bloody great packs of bikers riding around scaring old ladies gives us a bad name and may ultimately get us banned from the road.
