Hi from Cambs
« on: July 16, 2008, 14:42:05 »
Helloo,
Just purloined my OH's DL650 from him after he swapped his commuting-job for a walk-to-work job so has bought himself a weekend toy-for-boy Aprilia space rocket.

Five years since I've been on a bike and boy does it feel good to be back on two wheels!  The upright comfy relaxed position is wonderful.  At first I was a bit daunted by the amount/height of bike in front of me - screen, bars, tank, fairing, but after 4 weeks' riding it, it all seems quite normal.

Anyone into longterm road testing, OH bought it new (04) and clocked up 47,000 miles on it. Just had its original chain, sprockets and battery replaced. Shock is next.  Always started, always very reliable.  We took it to Spain when we first bought it, Bay of Biscay ferry, and then a few 100 miles touring with me pillioning, also very comfy.

Only mods, a Scotoiler and a Givi topbox.  Blue.  Very regularly serviced.

Thoroughly chuffed with it!

Hi Surfgirl. Welcome.

Wow, 47,000 miles and never missed a beat. If that isn't a testimony to V'Strom reliability, I don't know what is !

Welcome Surfgirl - great to hear about a bike being so well used, and even better to hear about it continuing to be reliable
