Don't be too hard on yourself, I never knew you could change to race shift until I fit my peg lowering kit and inadvertently set it up...

Coming back from work this evening, I was following some cars through roadworks when some scroate wearing a balaclava pulls out on an off road bike behind me and starts doing wheelies through the traffic, towards the pedestrians crossing the road. Then jumps the red light, doing more wheelies and goes round the roundabout also doing wheelies. Of course if he kills himself, it won't be his fault, and no doubt his family will be saying he 'was a cheeky chap who never did wrong'
I hope the other drivers don't think the rest of us are like that...

Electric bikes, bugger me they are fast! I've just nipped out for some shopping & posting of some items when this electric bicycle pulls alongside me then accelerated away. I had the cruise control set at 50 mph ! He must have been doing over 70 mph with only a black balaclava as protection... Tosser.

Ahh...you have got me started now.... :icon_wink:

No MOT / tax  (on what is legally an unregistered motorcyle )   so insurance is void ( if they had any ) no number plate ..hmm , thinking :icon_wink:...speeding..no helmet....Probably more..Licence ??

At that speed 20 mile ?? range if a full charge....how hard is that to follow till it dies , on  a plain clothes police version ?
If nothing else think of the fines generated ...we know the powers that be love those .
Sigh.....

No cyclist uses those type off road , even where limits don't matter on private land , they would fall apart.

Having said all that....my legal gasgas is a ball round town. I often get a car thinking to overtake me away from a stop . Only to find I am doing 15 mph in just a few feet ( and more if I put the effort in when the motor cuts out ...so not often  ) and already gone ...thank you... try better next time

Arghhhhh :icon_wink:

Virgin Media. 'Nuff said?
Thursday there was a lightning strike right outside my house. The internet died. I contacted them, they did tests from their end, and decided I needed an engineer's visit. Booked it for this morning, 4 hour window between 8-12. At 12: 30 I asked where my engineer was. "He'll be there in 40 minutes" I was told. At 14:00 I enquired again. "Has the new equipment arrived?" Eh? I've not asked for new equipment, just an engineer. "It says here your new hardware arrived yesterday, and the engineer is coming on the 20th." Umm, no. No new gear. 48 hours without broadband and, obviously, no landline since the digital switchover. I had to rebook. He is supposed to arrive on Wednesday. Only six days of no broadband, landline or CCTV. Marvellous.

Rusty,
Depending on your phone contract speed  (5g? ) and data allowance , you can set your phone as a data wifi hotspot , and link your other devices to it to use the phones over the air data.
I often do this when away to my Chromebook ( bigger buttons and screen ) if there is no wifi available and I have a good signal, but as I have 50 G of data on my contract it is not a problem...smaller amounts can soon get burnt through surfing YT or watching a film :GRR:

Cheers, Nigel, that's what I'm already doing. My phone as mobile hotspot. Which is fine if I'm in, but if she's in and I'm out......
Also on 5g but it's patchy here so switches to 4g in the house.

BP Rewards just sent a "no Reply" email do-dab  " we haven't seen you lately etc."   If I could have replied I'd have said,  "the Service Station I used to use was on the only main route off this Peninsular it is now a Shell Station. The alternatives your website suggests are in Colchester (and no one goes there unless they have to) and on the A12, but that is North of me and on the South side carriageway.
But because it is a no reply email I can't say any of that so they'll never know.
It's all some automated message generating AI,  so it's not even worth swearing at it.

All the service stations around here seem to be on a merry go round or is it just site swapping. Is that just here or is it all over?  Even Morrisons have leased their fuel stations to the Motor Fuels Group.

An NHS email says that me being and old git is entitled to a Covid 19 and flu jab and I should get it done the 'sooner the better'. I followed their link and found myself on a page that said this service is no longer availabe but will be available in the winter.  OMG it's not as joined up as spaghetti or for that matter, macaroni.

I got a similar text from the NHS and I'm booked in on the 10th for a Flu & covid jab. Different area's seem to have different availability, perhaps it should be renamed the Regional Health Service ?

It's the administration that lets my local hospital (Wonford Exeter) down, one hand doesn't know what the other is doing, they don't answer phones or call back to left messages and are sometimes rude. All of the staff who actually treat and consult people are first class.  :thumb:

Apparently they have decided the immunity is better if they delay the Covid jab until Late Oct / Nov. However they then keep this a secret so in Scotland at least people get appointments for way in the future. Reschedule them for earlier. Turn up and only get the flu jab and are told they will get a letter with a new Covid jab appointment.
The weary receptionists and the vaccination centres are very aware they sound like a broken record.

Both Deb & myself got a text from our doctors about 3 weeks back asking us to book our flu jabs (no Covid jab mentioned) at the practice, which we did.
3 days ago we both got another text to say the appointment had been cancelled & we needed to book again at a different place. (still no mention of a Covid jab).
We have booked again for 18th Oct. We await to see if we get the flu jab at least.

I got a text from the NHS telling me to follow the link from my local practice to book a flu jab appointment.

I followed the link, and the message informed me there were no appointments available!

I got an email from my Doctors surgery inviting me for my flu jab some weeks ago. Couldn’t make that one, so left it for a couple of weeks and contacted my surgery asking if there were any new dates.

Next day, email from NHS inviting me again, and was able to get an earlier appointment than before. 11th October, but no mention of a COVID booster.

Can’t knock that service.🤷‍♂️

I still get flu jab invites, but that’s just a generic NHS email.

I've been double-tapped by a flare up of my tendonitis (just above my achilies, left leg) and tennis elbow (right elbow) which has prevented me going out on the bike today. Ibuprofen just won't mark it...

Ouch! The medication won't work on it's own so rest and ice (even if it's not swollen) is your best bet now I think. Trust me, I know a doctor, a real doctor.  :smirk: :thumb:.
