Anybody noticed the ad on TV for bottom deodorant? I mean really, a floral spray for you bum. They even show it being used!
So, they have spray for your bum and spray for your underarms and expensive spray for your face then, there are sweet smelling washing powders and lovely long lasting odours from the conditioner that you pure into the other side of the draw. Oh! it's not finished there, now there are graduals that you throw in the drum to make you want to stay in bed all day even when your bed is out in a field some place because you used those products for your duvet.

There are aerosol cans full of scent  for your home and a million and one plug ins that will make your lounge smell like a florist. There are different devices to make your toilet smell like a hairdressers too.

I would rather have the smell of 2 stroke and Lifebuoy toilet soap and leave it there! Okay, rant over but my mind is not at peace yet so I may be back.  ### ### ###     :thumb:

Okay rant over but I may be back because I still have this burning desire to throw my TV out of the window.

A smart fella or a fart smeller?
But you are so right sniffing underpants is not normal.
Unless that is you're sniffing your own pants to see if they'll do for another week.

The centre of the on/off button on the top of my 340 Garmin has fallen off/ to pieces. That'll be no good in the rain. Does anyone know of a fix for this?

When the power button on my aged Montana 650 crumbled to pieces I replaced it with a goodly sized blob of silicone holding the little lumpy bit of the switch that does the actual switching within the unit.

Still water proof and working 3+ years later  :thumb:

Dave, Garmin support in the UK .... worth a call to see if the button is available & can be replaced by yourself or their repair 'shop'.

Wasps, the stripey whooers always build a nest somewhere in my house or garden every piggin' year. This year they have chosen to build a nest above the front door. It's difficult to ignore as it's a bungalow, so they are close by. I've given the area a blast with 'wasp nest killer' and I'll treat it again later on before bed time. Every year...

Twenny One Twelvy.
We've also got some early Northumberland wasp activity. Can't get at any nest as the pesky blighters are going under the tiles above a dormer type window and the area is remote from the loft by some timber framing.
I don't know if it'll work or not but someone has recommended peppermint oil, soapy warm water and a good sprayer. The sprayer has been obtained from YTS for a princely sum of £4.00, it's the pump up type, the pure peppermint oil is £6.00 from Boots, the soapy water courtesy of Er'Indoors.
I sprayed it up behind the tile caps yesterday, fearless I was, probably only used about a fifth of the oil. So far there's no sign of them and I smell very minty.
The spray will work at up to around 5 metres if you're a big girlie scaredy cat.
Which obviously you're not being a roughty toughty Northumberlandian.

I've heard of pepermint oil, might give it a try? I've just given another blast of the wasp nest killer, difficult to tell if it's having much effect or not? I'll empty the can when it gets darker...

I wiped out a ground built wasps nest last year with ample doses of soapy (washing up liquid) water. I dosed it three times liberally during an evening and sucess!  :icon_batterup:
So how's it going so far then?

Well, the 'wasp nest killer' has done exactly what it said on the tin. No wasp action to be seen in either nest (it turns out I had two...) and loads of dead wasps lying around on the path & roof tiles. I won't get carried away, I've only won the battle, not the war!

Zero In, Ultra Power, Wasp Nest Killer Foam Jet, 600ml from Tool Station, highly recommended  :thumb:

A bit early to be a M.O.G. but After three years of grumbling about Moto Guzzi failing to supply a proper rear mudguard Pyramid Plastics have come up with a Hugger for it. And I was  :happydance: and ordered one. But then this morning a text said "Demand had out stripped supply" and there is a four week wait for these to get to Pyramid and then another 5 or so days  for postage to customers. :groan:

Any sparkies out there?
Just had a bit of a light flashing issue and the oven fan almost stopped, one fridge freezer working, one not. Some lights OK, some off.
Not just us but the NE71 post code.
Low voltage perhaps?
Apparently one person posted that only half their tv screen was on?
It's ghosts innit!
Do you think someone's trying to put the Willie's up me? Oh I do hope not!

Some dog owners... Went for a walk this morning and came across a big dog on its own which instantly starts growling and barking from a distance before following me closing the distance still growling/barking. Could see some dog walkers in the distance so headed towards them (it was theirs) with this dog still growling/barking and they go 'oh, it's harmless, don't worry about it, it does that to everyone but doesn't bite'. Oh well, that's OK then don't bother keeping it with you/on a lead/or with a muzzle  :violence-smack:
They also had another one of the same type which was even further away and just roaming unsupervised

I remember having one dog hanging off my troosers, trying to establish its way in to fleshy parts, I gave it five lace holes and picked up the the nearest branch to bludgeon it, when the owned said, and I quote...
"Oh it's never done that before".
I considered using the branch on the owner but I wouldn't like prison food.

You've probably lost a jumper (a connector between conductors, usually at section points) on the 20kV HV system. It's almost entirely overhead around Wooler and a jumper off would give low volts on the LV network. I can explain why, but it will take several pages!

Looks like a big issue in the Wooler area (my original diagnosis still looks good), you can check out progress at the NPG faults map - https://www.northernpowergrid.com/power-cuts-map

It does of couse mean you need electricity and an internet connection to use it...

A warning to those tempted to buy on EBay from a vendor in the EU. I bought a top case  £50 or so less than other sellers from a company in Italy believing the price to include taxes. I just got a bill from FedEx for £79. I contacted the seller and they replied in italian something like: welcome to brexit
