So, I do dislike a sentence being started with 'so'!
One of my other dislikes is 'of' instead of 'have'........ 'should of' instead of 'should have'. 'would of' instead of 'would have', etc

I've just watched a programme where the narrator and some of the contributors continually referred to something called 'nucular' power. Somewhat lessens my belief in them being experts in a field they can't even pronounce.

People who don't know the difference between 'brakes' and 'breaks'! eg. So called professional YouTube videos quoting 'break horse power'

But...what is fair game on social media, telling some hairy muscleman he 'don't talk proper', not so much ...........

Worst one in print I saw on a Facebook fancy font graphic panel recently, was of the 'could of' variety

There is nothing wrong, in my opinion, to continue to press the point(s) and tell someone they can't spell and ought to have learnt by now (or learned, it can be either.......). The snow flake attitude does nothing to uphold some semblance sustaining correct spelling and grammar.

One of my brothers drives me crazy with his lack of understanding at the age of 68 with issues over 'to', 'your' and 'there'..... Never mind 'have' and 'of'.

I have great difficulty with spelling. For example when I don't wash my feet they spell something awful.
I have "Eric Morecambe syndrome". All the right letters, but not necessarily in the right order.

We all make mistakes Brocket, sometimes we may even not know how to spell the word, but it doesn't take a lot of effort to find out how to spell it.
What annoys me most is that people now days don't seem to care.
I tell my grandkids, regularly, learn how to spell and learn your grammar, because social media is not the only thing you will be writing on in your life.
Having said that, I'm not well educated, leaving school with no qualifications at 16 but I try my best!

It's all very well for you Northerners who pronounce your words the way they are spelt. Spare a thought for the kids down South who spell it one way and pronounce it another.

Service reminder on my car a Honda Jazz ( yeah I know) It was in last month to have the window washer pump replaced so they did a pre-service health check.
Front brake pads down to 7mm - replacements £325
O/S rear handbrake cable bracket - bolt missing - replacement £65.80

That bolt must be made of unobtainium

I think I'll be giving the main dealer a miss this year

I was thinking what you all said.
Looking back to last year I see I paid £285 for engine oil and filter change and an air con re-gas. They quoted £79 for the air con so something IRO £200 for an oil change is a bit steep.
There is a parts dealer a few hundred yards from home so I'll visit them.

Should I ask for a gennine Honda filter or are there other suitable makes?
What make of brake pads are good and or best avoided?

A pattern oil filter will be fine.

There's many makes out there but Bosch or Brembo pads are easily as Good as oem

Others are EBC and Ferodo
