Quad, quadricycle,  quadcycle? never seen that one, whatever, I don't mind abbreviations. Bicyle > bike, tricycle > trike, but not quad bike. It's the numerical mismatch, not the truncating of the word that grates.

MartinW, if you want, go for it, but don't call it an eighteen wheel bike.

It's what defines cycle,, I think,, cos if a quad bike is just a quad then so is a car ?? and Trotters car is a Tri,,,,     mind you British law thinks a Reliant is a trike cos you can drive them on a motorbike licence,, or you could

Isn't this just how the '....ike' is steered? A bicycle, tricycle and quad have handlebars, unless it's a Bond Bug (proud owner at the time) which is a tricycle under licence rules which I think came from motorbike and side-car and earlier three wheeled 'cars' which had steering wheels........
So how's it going so far then?

Best thing about a grandson is when he puts his arms around my neck and says "I love you grandpa".
Worst thing, the day after he's gone, is the realisation that is all the bugs that he and his school mates have been incubating and sharing are now invading me.  ###

A Quad is not and never will be a bike. I know plenty of people call them Quad Bikes and that is fair enough as we all know what they mean. They are wrong and would probably fail to understand the concept even if it was shouted at them very slowly.

maybe as you say Bars ,, and hand throttle instead of foot throttle,,, hand clutch instead of foot clutch etc etc   who knows,,, who cares

Some older motorbikes have hand gear change and foot operated clutch.

Got to agree with that.

Last time we moved was 25 years ago and that is still too soon to move again :GRR:

I'm with you on that one Loz. I moved in April and have no wish to go through that rigmarole any time soon. ### :dl_hyperhysteria: :dl_smiley_banghead:

I am never moving house again. EVER.

We moved home 2 years ago. The aggravation of the whole process from indecisive buyers to snotty/inept solicitors (theirs and ours) is enough to send you potty.

My solicitor was called Ellie and had a My Little ****ing Pony rubber on her pen. I'm only glad it was soliciting (as in moving house, not thruppeny uprights behind the gas works) not murder.

My next house move will involve me being in the box.

In a similar vein Graham, I arrived home to find that Bucket had unzipped my work bag and snaffled my 4 "emergency" biscuits.

AGAIN.

He was alone for all of 20 minutes so this obviously constitutes an emergency....

Enjoy your new arrivals. Pics?
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.
