We should have a "WHY DO THEY DO THAT" thread, for example..........
Why do Highways insist on putting drain hole covers on corners right on the line a biker takes ?, always in the middle. I suspect its because car wheels go either side.

I am sure there will be loads of these types posts.
And as a foot note, when the Queens reaches 100 years old, who sends the birthday card ?

Following on from my ebay moan above, the bloke who did the deal and bought the screen from under me is now selling it, with an increase in postage costs and starting price nearly a tenner more than he paid for it 2 weeks ago
Shan't be bidding this time  :icon_no:

That'll be the reigning monarch, King William.

regarding boatmad's post on ebay, I think its one of two things.
1) adverts are dodgy, no item for sale, hence person posting the add has no idea what he is talking about
2) We have so many foreign nationals living here now that do not understand english, hence they make large mistakes when selling something on line, or, refer back to one for a dodgy deal.

I know of one deal where a buyer agreed to view a 15 foot speedboat, he met the seller at the boat compound, viewed the boat, briefly run the 50HP merc, agreed a price and handed over his cash, happy with his deal.
He went back following weekend to find the "owner" using his boat. the phone number on the advert was not available, no address details changed hands.
Its never so true as buyer beware.

In many instances an enquirer offers a good deal to the seller for the seller to end the auction early. It happens all the time. You cannot blame the seller as he/she wants to sell their item at a price that they are happy with and if they can do so early then why not?

It may be irritating but basically there is nothing wrong with the practice. I've lost out on some items before but it's legal.

On every listing I do FOC postage so there is no argument about how much the post office charged me. I put no collection in person because I won't be waiting in while some muppet bothers to turn up and knock down the price he already agreed. I don't do overseas postage because things get lost and while Royal Mail can be rubbish they aren't actually corrupt. I state I don't end auctions early because I want the best price and don't want to deal with primadona buyers who'll be sending "where's my stuff" emails thirty seconds after they paid.

Can anyone guess the top 4 questions I get asked?   :GRR:

She'll have abdicated by then, Charles will have said "bollocks to that for a job" and King Billy will be signing the cards. She'll still be a queen, just not the queen.
.....Unless the revolution's happened by then...........

I understand it's not against ebay's rules, so long as the sale still goes through the site, they make their cut, why would they care? But IMO it would be more honest if the seller just put a buy it now price on it if that's what they want so I still think there is something wrong about it and I came on this thread to have a moan  :dl_soapbox:
And in this case the buyer who absolutely had to have it has now changed his mind and wants to make a quick profit. I'm out.

So I ordered some bits for my bike, Aux lights, panniers and rack etc and they all turned up today  :lala: Only problem is they're all sat in the garage now in boxes as I'm off all week decorating and I'm not allowed to play with my bike  :bawl:

I hope it sleets and snows all week now  :GRR:

Your complaint coincided with Rusty's picture of the nuns with the... http://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=29651.msg294001#msg294001 coincidence the picture was removed and you're complaining about lack of plugs near the bed??  :stirpot:

What is it with lorries overtaking each other at the point there the A1 goes from 3 lanes to 2, or at the start of a very long hill... or cars that just sit in the outside lane regardless of how slow they're going   :dl_smiley_banghead:

I just wish that everyone exiting a roundabout with their right turn indicator still on could be struck down with acute diarrhoea for a month. Now that's the male menopause in full flight.

It wasn't me that removed the Nun and Cock picture, perhaps I should start another rant about people referring to Power Sockets as Plugs? :)
