Whilst in the UK a few days back I went to Halfords to get some filters for car/bike. "We don't sell them off the shelf any more, didn't make enough money on them. We can order them though, Euro Car Parts in Mercer's Row (Cambridge) and add a profit on.............."

I drove round the corner and bought them direct, cheeky s*ds!

I remember when they had smallish shops with good quality stock for the real motor (car/bike) enthusiast. Bought a good few tools from them.... but that was 40 plus years ago. It's been downhill ever since

I'm reet aggravated , the price for one pint of Guinness in my local has just gone to £3.20 !!!!.. That means my usual afternoon socialisation now cost £12.80..

I'm going to have to draw my horns in...

You don't realise how lucky you are ......... a pint of beer at my local(s) is £3.35....Guinness is £3.65!!

Although I do get 20p a pint off (real ale only) as I'm a member of Camra.
Socialising doesn't come cheap any more.

Beer - Bad (due to effin effin moaning old git gout )
Cider 4 litres £3.98 Aldi / Lidll etc - Good (Gout hasn't discovered cider yet)
Being a misanthrope, no need to socialise - Good
