Helloooo from Aberdeen (Libya)
« on: June 30, 2008, 07:12:37 »
Hello people!
Just found your site and what a relief I have to say. I'm an Aberdonian currently working somewhere in the Libyan Sahara.
I MISS MY BIKE!! A 3 month old DL1000 and can't wait to jump on her again.
I'm quite new to the biking thing but I have to say I have the bug BIGTIME and when at home I just can't keep off the thing. Only the stock seat makes me jump off from time to time. Any suggestions??
Twisty roads through mountains are my idea of a little bit of heaven on earth.
Happy biking people!

Hi HeeB - welcome. It's probably about as warm as Libya here on the IoW at the moment (only joking - I bet you are baked)  but not quite so much sand. I hope you will be astride your bike again really soon.
Lots of people change or modify their stock saddle - see Blue Lady's posts about her Sargent. Otherwise there are gel inserts and lots of businesses in the UK which will rebuild your saddle to your own specification - don't have any links to hand but can get them if you want.

Sorry to hijack your post HeeB but in response to Blue Lady the road is at the bottom of Conair Pass between Tralee and Dingle in West Ireland. I'm lucky enough to get a bit of locum work there and travel over on the bike. It's just fantastic countryside - maybe a good place for a rally sometime Andy?

Barnabas, I don't mind at all. Especially when you send such Great pics. Makes me want to go home sooner. Alas not till the 14th next month.
Blue Lady is that your real hair? Did you buy the bike to match it or match the hair to the bike? It was my second choice and I think I'm regretting the black.
Will post some pics when home.
Thanks for the warm welcome people.
Now.....wheres my camel?......
