I tried the Master V suit on - Either HG clothing is made for dwarfs, or I am too tall! OK, its the latter! FFS, the trousers only go up to a long leg, if its their top of the range, I reckon Xlong would be a good addition!

I really struggle to find jackets to fit, they are either short in the sleeve, or too bit in the chest to get the sleeve in the right place.

ATM I have a pair of cheapo trousers (Texspeed I think they are), but they stayed waterproof and warm all last winter, and are a 36" leg so fit nicely!

Summer wear I have a leather 2 piece suit - worn once! Each to their own, but I felt like a tw@t in sprayed on leather  :-x  kept it for the holy day that I venture onto a track (HAHA, that is unlikely to happen!!!). I also have a Tuzo Terrain jacket which I quite like as it in very long in the sleeve and suprisingly warm, only bad point is the low round collar, I prefer a higher collar (and deffinately no removable ones - If it isn't screwed on - I loose it!!)

Winter I have the same trousers and a Weise something or other jacket - Too big, but I do tend to over layer to keep warm on a 25 mile journey on a winter morning and it was £40 with full Knox armor as it was 2008 range, bought in 2010.

Tickets booked for the NEC show next month so who knows what I will be wearing next year - I REALLY want Rukka, but my nigerian cousin Io have never met hasn't died recently so the funds are a bit low for a £1k jacket!!

I think I am a bit of a oddbod though, I like to but cheaper, end of line stuff and change regularly than stick all my eggs in one basket and blow a grand 'hoping' it will last 5 years!

lol Not had one of these emails for a while now - would feel almost quaint compared to the latest bank login scams I seem to get.

how tall are you?

I'm 6ft 32" inseem and they fit me fine, although I do have to have the smallest sizes.

But when I got the suit it was £950 for the suit, thankfully I was working for them so didn't pay that for it!
Perks of the job I guess :P

Best suit I've ever owned though.

Over 6'4" but have long legs and arms (First person who references knuckle dragging or apes will get a slap :thumb: )

The HG stuff did feel nice, until the fella in the shop lobbed a cvup of water at me to show how it beaded - unfortunately jackets rarely cover face/jeans/shoes so needless to say - I got soaked!!!

They are bringing out the VI next year so there is some corking deals for the V going atm!

The NEC Bike Show is 19-27 Nov this year and I will be away on holiday in South Africa from 5th until the 26th of November (3 weeks of South African summer! :lala: ) I was thinking, since I still need to replace my helmet, I might drop in on the last day, Sunday the 27th, and see if I can find a bargain Shoei or Shark helmet. I'll have my V-Strom fleece on so say hello if you see me :thumb:

You'll have to help me to remember, after 3 weeks in the Sun and then coming back to the UK and it's miserable winter I might not be in any state to remember :)

Just a thought for anyone else without a Nigerian benefactor who is thinking about pricing up Rukka gear. I bought Rukka Armadillo jacket & trousers last winter after trying them on at a local shop & really liking the design & fit. They seemed worth paying a bit more for so I looked around and found shops in Germany heavily discounting on t'internet who seemed to have good feedback so bought from them. I paid a total of £725 for the pair - less than the retail price of just the jacket in the UK. Still a lot of money, but so far I'm well pleased. Have a look later in the year on http://www.biker-land.de/, http://www.louis.de, or http://www.outdoor-center24.de/
Bit early yet for the big discounts.
I found service to be excellent and postage rates very reasonable.

I have a louis shop about 10ish minutes away from me. if anyone wants anything pricing up  just give me a shout. I'm happy to buy it for you and bring it back to the UK if you're not in a hurry for it. you'd have to send the money before I brought it as it could be costly if several people want bits. also I can get the tax off which is 19% at the minute.

That's a very generous offer and the -19% makes it even better

I have a nice leather jacket by Tuzo, bought a few years back for £50 in a busters on line sale. Used for sunny days so hardly worn :bawl:

I lightweight textile waterproof short sports type jacket from JTS leathers, bought in their sale last eyar for £30. Quite warm enough for late spring through to early autumn and waterproof and has body armour.

A lovely three quarter length waterproof/ winter/touring jacket by Buffalo, bought in a sale from Ghost Bikes via eBay for £45 - bargain (are you seeing the pattern yet? I'm what some would call fry=ugal or careful and what others would call tight). This last is one of the best jackets I've owned.

Lid is a Nitro half face ( I don't like full face lids) bought for £30 in a sale from Ebay

I have spada winter gloves (£30), rayven waterproof leather gloves for spring/summer/autumn (£15) and some tech7 summer gloves (£24 - I winced when I had to pay full price)

Boots are something I've never had much luck with. My mate bought the same boots as me and his were waterproof for 2 years, mine leaked after 2 days. My latest pair are spada, bought for £40 via Ebay. I've had these since June and they have just developed a small leak at the toes. Fifteen eyars I've been looking for truly waterproof boots, and the search goes on.

Most of the time I just wear denim jeans with waterproof overtrousers (£14) for the rain and in winter I wear long johns (£7), jeans and thermal waterproof over trousers (£20). I have some Hood jeans which are kevlar lined and I do use these for touring but they are  bit warm in the summer.

Good kit does not necessarily have to be expensive.

Boots are one of those things you simply have to fork out a bit extra for to get something proper.

also if they are only just starting to leak wax them up, leather needs to feed, I wax my work boots once every two weeks and polish daily, and only get wet feet if I'm stood in water for ages.

Fancy a brew at Loomies PM me.

Regularly use either renapur or dubbin on my boots but still they leak. Have tried many brands at all sorts of prices but no luck yet.
