From what I have read, the suggestion is to do the NC500 in anti-clockwise direction. Some have suggested the east side (Inverness to John O’Grouts) is pretty but a little boring compared to the west side. I presume the views are also more dramatic travelling east to west, but I haven’t been so can’t confirm.

If you're passing through Edinburgh on the return leg ....... and you should to continue down the A710 'Beeftub' Give us a shout: tools, pressure wash and beer/coffee waiting.
