Bash Plate Noise Reduction
« on: July 27, 2025, 17:13:46 »
Hi All,
Did a run to Blackpool and back today and although I'm getting used to the extra noise from the bash plate I noticed above 70 I get a resonance, below about 66 its gone, I'm assuming its the bash plate, has anyone used the bitumen noise pads that stick to the plate to reduce the sound?.
Thanks
Mark

I'm not sure which bash plate you are using, but I had exactly the same issue with a Cosmo bash plate.

It took a while to track down, but in the end I put a strip of bicycle inner tube between the plate and the rear mounting bracket, so that it's squashed between the two and that stopped the noise.
The older I get, the better I was.

Hi, I bought a packet of 2mm m6 penny washers, 20mm diameter and put them between the plate and mounts, so far it works great, ringy resonance gone and its has made things more less noisy, I'm happy with it.
