How to I tag someone in a reply?
« on: October 08, 2024, 13:48:13 »
As above. Don't want to quote them but would be good to tag them.
Can it be done?

I don't quite know what you are asking but if you click on the name of the person in their avatar you have some options that might help. Sorry if I'm wrong in my understanding of your question.  :thumb:

Has Mr Rat told you off by any chance Bob?   lol  Don't worry, he "corrects" all of us when we forget.

Hopefully someone more tech savvy can tell you how it works in this forum template. I've used @ and username in other forums but I have no idea if it does so on this sire.

No. Pretty sure there's no such mechanism on these boards

I've not been told off yet...
I've tried the @bobsyeruncle type thing but that doesn't work.
It was so the person I'm replying to knows I'm replying to them.....

If you're replying to the post above or even one or two above then there's no need to "quote". Or even if the thread is a few pages & it's still on the same subject, again, no need to "quote".
If the post I want to reply to has 'got lost' in a thread or I'm answering to more than one person then I like to put @ & their name.
As in ........ @Rusty Nuts, I'm pretty sure you're correct.
