Newby in Central France
« on: May 20, 2024, 09:24:13 »
Hi All, my name is Dave and I have lived in Central France for the last 22 years. Before that born and bred 'up north' in England.

I've had a fair few bikes in my time as a motocyclist, Suzukis, Hondas, BMW Royal Enfield etc but I can honestly say that my new-to-me 2004 V-Strom 650 is a peach of a bike and suits me perfectly, at my current age of 71.

Doesn't matter whether it's an hours bimble, an 800 kms trip or anything in between my Suzy serves me really well.

Bought her about 3 weeks ago with 31,000 kms on the clock (roughly 20,000 mls), the previous owner having had her since 2009. Seems well looked after but I will still go right through her from front to back, just to make sure. Have done about 1800 kms since I got her and all seems really good.

Fast enough, comfortable enough, economical enough - what's not to like ??

Cheers all
Dave

Congratulations. The 2004 DL650 is the best bike ever designed and manufactured.

Everyone is jealous of the beautiful silver frame.

I've had mine from new and never considered replacing it.
