Independent mechanic Exeter ?
« on: February 23, 2021, 11:07:30 »
I took my front brake calipers off yesterday to put stainless steel R clips on the pins. After pumping the pads back to the disks, I rode up to about 20 mph then hit the front brake to test the ABS. Everything worked fine but when I got home (about 4 miles) I noticed that one of the fork seals had burst.

I live in Exeter and would like to find an independent mechanic who can fix it for me. Do any of you know of anybody not too far from Exeter please?

Edit: Also, would it be best to use Suzuki seals or are there better quality ones out there?

Use the Suzuki ones.
I used to sell them... they are better than 99% of the alternatives

Powerhouse.uk also sell good seals as they specialise in rebuilding/refurbishing calipers. Avoid cheap rubbish off eBay.

Thanks for the advice men. My bike is booked in to CCR in Exmouth for Friday afternoon. The mechanic insists on fitting genuine Suzuki so, who am I to argue. Very fair price too, I think. I hope the weather is nice over the weekend.  :auto-dirtbike:

Jez of CCR Exmouth did my forks for me on Friday. I would recommend Jez to anyone, nice bloke and did a great job at a fair price. He told me that whoever had changed the fork oil before had put different oil in each fork? The bike does feel like new now. You can fing CCR if you Google and his phone # 01392267773. He also has all the diagnostic kit for BMW's etc.  :thumb:
