NW 500ish.

Just back from a 2 day run and a night in the tent.never been right up to the NW tip of Scotland, so thought I'd have a wee look. Relentless wind, cold, rain and thousands upon thousands of motorhomes mean I'm home today.. 560 miles all in. Vstrom was great on the a and b roads, but it's far from a motorway bike. I've got a banging headache and a sore neck.. probably not helped by having a peak on my helmet.  Did get a calm dry couple of hours in the evening which almost made it worth it.. almost.

Nice one. Where did you camp? Last year I stayed in Durness. The NW is fantastic. Shame to hear about your motorway experience. No problem for me on my DL1000GT. Rode around 300 miles to Carlisle to start my last Scotland trip with no problem. Could have done more  but then I don't have a peak on my helmet!

Get rid of the peak on the helmet, get rid of the stock screen and get a Givi Airflow for a hundred quid!  Headache and stiff neck will be a thing of the past!!   :auto-dirtbike:
Never too old to ride!

I camped at sheigra, proper quiet and secluded. I have a Suzuki accessory screen, and after a bi of messing with it, it works well. I can ride at 90 with visor up with no probs, gets real noisy visor down. Buffeting isn't bad at all except when behind trucks. Slightly higher seat helped buffeting a lot, as did mirror extenders
