Dartmoor Sunset
« on: May 20, 2020, 20:00:30 »
My 2nd ride out after lockdown restrictions lifted. Went for a rise across Dartmoor with my son on pillion. We caught the sunset just outside Two Bridges.

Bike looks great in the sunset, but the bald headed bloke stood by the bike spoils the picture!!!   lol lol   Great shots!
Never too old to ride!

Love riding over Dartmoor, I live in Newton Abbot and some how always end up going through Princetown no matter which way I set off.
Some great sun sets up there, did the same thing a couple of years ago now.

Thanks iPod. Always good to hear from a local forum member. There's not too many of us down here! It's great to have Dartmoor on our doorstep.

Princetown would be a great place for us all to meet up, from near and far, when this thing is all over. There is plenty of camping and lots of bunkhouse space. The pub (Plume and feathers) has a large room at the back which is perfect for the likes of 50 or more of us. Some nice rides from there too though the speed limit on the moors is 40mph.

I was out there again last night. On the road to Gutter Tor car park. Sheepstor and Burrator reservoir in the background.

Hello Mep, have you tried riding Postbridge at speed yet? Check it out for walkers first then, if clear, take a run up at speed. You may not get height but you'll fly a long way :).

I agree that there are some lovely rides on Dartmoor but, the speed limits and sight seeing car drivers are a pain sometimes.

Hello Doc. Funnily enough I was at Postbridge on Sunday for a walk. Our son was telling me about a friend who took the bridge at speed in a car. I'll pass on it myself though.

IPod looking at your bike, you could be the chap I see riding to Exeter on the A38. Around 6:30  most morning. Usually on the chudley stretch, I only remember to wave after you have gone past sorry

Lovely place Devon.
I transverse the North mainly, Bude, Padstow & anything along the north coast.
But Princetown, & two bridges are very nice places to see.
Go via Moretonhampstead, come back via Tavy & up the A386 Oakehampton, Torrington & home.

Picture is Bude.
