What panniers rails ? DL650 2017>
« on: February 13, 2020, 10:01:51 »
Morning,

A quick question. What pannier rails/bars are you using on the 650? I have givi boxes, but the rails do not have to be givi as I'm happy to make adaptor/brackets.

I have a large top box, Givi e55 (I think). Will the side opening panniers fit under it.

Any help, thoughts, recommendations, greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

If you have Givi panniers why wouldn’t you buy their frame rails? They also have the flexibility to remove the mushrooms and toblerone leaving bare rails that can take any of the plain ally box panniers which, in my opinion, are the most user friendly panniers in existance.

Thanks for the replies. I've opted for the Givi standard rails (not the quick release ones). They seem to be well made. I'm unsure if my slightly ancient panniers will be a direct fit, but that not an issue I can easily make brackets to suit.

I don’t recall GIVI ever changing their pannier fitment so I am sure you will be fine.

Up until Trekker Outback and Dolomiti cam-lock types, I think they are all the same. Monokey Toblerone at the top, two mushrooms at the bottom. V35s don't count, weird shape.

PL is for standard fitment.
PLX for the V35 only. (Stupid shape, small boxes)
PL##CAM is for the Outback boxes.

Numbers are for bike model fitment.

Annoyingly GIVI use the word Monokey for all three
