Hello - bought a DL1000 and looking for a DL250
« on: July 12, 2019, 11:50:46 »
Hello,
South Derbyshire based and bought a 57 reg DL1000 for an absolute snip a 10 days ago and will be looking for some pointers in due course on maintenance (valve clearance check and adjustment) and common mods.

But I'm also looking for maybe a DL250 to do a bit of greenlaning on - any for sale?

Regards

Pete O Tube (aka Russ)

Hello Russ and  :welcome:

Most discussion on here is whether to swap a 650 for a 1000 or vica-versa, so you're the first with this scenario of having both a 1000 and a 250.

The 250cc V-Strom is a road based bike with road tyres and road sized wheels.
You'd be far better off with a Honda CRF250L or Rally. But the Rally's plastics are expensive to replace.

I used a DL650 for a few years off road, but it's too low to the ground, too heavy and too powerful.
My old TTR250 was the perfect tool but never got used enough.
The DL250 would not survive long offroad.
