Ex-Transalp Newbie
« on: April 01, 2018, 21:33:00 »
Hello everyone. After a couple of years riding a 2007 XL650V Transalp, I wanted something newer. I wanted a Triumph Tiger 800 or an Africa Twin, but they were just way too big for me. So, after lots of reading, searching and looking, I decided on a 2016 V-Strom - the one with the beak, and the horizontal twin headlamps. I love the looks and it still has a nod towards the pseudo off-road style I like.

Very much looking forward to its delivery next week, and enjoying the forum.

All the best

John

:welcome2: to you, I had a 700 tranny, lovely bike if I'm honest, and felt bombproof,I think you will like the Strom, it's a bit more lively than your old bike, and just as competent,or more so.

Had a late model 600 Tranny for a few years as an everyday bike and also toured Scotland solo on it. It was a brilliant bike. The Vstrom is much roomier for two up riding and more refined when high speed cruising. You will love it.
