OK, so that's a dumb title, I agree, but couldn't think! I love dirt trails and I love exploring, and somehow I've got myself into the BMW stable, probably because it was the bike I could afford at the time. Anyhow, lots of kilometers later (I haven't quite grasped the miles thing except that it catches me every time - 25 doesn't seem far to go, but it takes 40km to get there! Go figure!).
So, here I am in UK, wanting to buy another bike, and all the BMW advice says stay away from them. Now I'm buggered - what now? So I have a niece back in South Africa married to the national manager of Suzuki - he's seen where I ride, and his advice is the new(ish) DL650XT, not the Versys, because the Versys is not a KLR replacement.
So I'm here - I still need to buy the bike. It'll have to be wire spokes and upgraded suspension because the forums tell me so, and it would be a bonus if they were tubeless.
So, that was a really long way of saying hi. I've ridden lots of other continents - around 100,000 miles - born in Zimbabwe, worked in South Africa and Australia, and now it's Europe, Britain, Ireland, wet, and winter, and I'll need all the advice I can get.
So, I'm MrStripes because one of my bikes I covered in printed plastic, designed like a zebra. I loved it, but it really freaked out the BMW purists.
