I had a cracking run out on the tranny today. Down to Barnard Castle, up to the Tan Hill Inn (heaving, so we left), down to Kirkby Stephen for lunch, even further down to Kirkby Lonsdale & Devils Bridge for a cuppa. From here we had a run up to Kendal & then back over Hartside Pass, Alston, Hexham & home! Over 250 miles on some belting roads and it stayed dry - a great day out.

Cheers, we had so much fun and not a single photgraph was taken. I did however have a 20 mile run on my mates KTM1290 Adventure, crikey that thing is FAST!!! I must never ever buy one as I found it far too easy to use all the power everywhere. Not good for the licence, not one bit... My mate was quite surprised at how sprightly the tranny was and how well it handled - and how much room there was on it. It's more accomodating than the 1290! He's got some handlebar risers ordered to improve the ergo's a bit.

I fitted the Cobra exhaust today. I took a few hours
I am disappointed with the overall fit. It stated that the cobra exhaust would be a direct fit to OEM. Don’t get me wrong the welding is first Class but when  fitting not a lot of  things lined up. I will ring them tomorrow to see what they say. I will add pictures especially the ones where the fixing bracket does not line up.

They look superb on the bike  :thumb:

It's a bit of a bugger the bracket doesn't line up very well but it looks like it could be an easy enough fix. However, why should you ? It'll be interesting to see what they say tomorrow.

2112  yes it is a easy fix but has you say why should you !!

To get the bracket to fit,  the pipe was about 12mm away from sealing to the front pipe. And yes the stock exhaust was so heavy with the Cat etc  lol

It is so loud I did not fit the DB killers but might have to  lol  I also did ride round the block and OMG it has made so much difference it goes like hell
My wife was in the garage when I first started it and blimey it was loud and there were Flames out of the end cans.
I will see what they have to say tomorrow 🤔  I can soon knock something up so I can at least use it.

Just do what Brockett's mate did to the Ariel. Bolt the exhaust to the swinging arm and you've got yourself a righteous badass rigid Harley.

He was not a mate. I've never had a mate that stupid. However all of my mates say they know one. :GRR:

I didn’t meant to sent it yet I hadn’t finished  lol

After work I started to take the exhaust off to send it back to Cobra.
But then I noticed that the original front pipe has a movable collet ( I did not notice this when I fitted it the other day ) I managed move the pipe backwards so that the rear bracket is almost lined up, and the collet moved up as well so hopefully it will be OK 🤞 my wife done her best to help me get the bracket lined up enough to get the bolt in and started, so I have left it for tonight and I will get a mate round after work tomorrow to at help me getting the bolt started at least 🤞
This is how close I have the Bracket fitting.

Nearly there! Be carful when you nip it up, that bolt is showing a bit of stress. You really don't want to snap a bolt...

Fair play to Cobra, that is cracking customer service and no mistake.

With help from my motorcycle mechanic friend. Got the exhaust all sorted and fitted nicely now, while I was doing it I also fitted the DB killers as it was just to dam loud  lol  just been for a 2 hour test ride  :auto-dirtbike:
While I was out I took a couple of pictures, while at this church I heard a rumble in the Sky and this came right above me so I took a video on my phone. And these are the stills. It was 20.25 so the sun was going down and made both the plane and the church a nice red tinch
The bike sounds so nice now and it has made such a difference  :lala:
All I need to do now is sort out a better rear suspension I have it set to soft and I feel every bump. The suspension is Showa so I would have thought it would have been good ?

The bike looks great and as good as it sounds with the new pipes, I bet you wish it sounded as good as the Lancaster ! Great pics, as ever, and I'm so pleased you've got the exhaust fitted OK  :thumb:

For what it's worth, Showa shocks are usually very good. BUT, they are often built to the manufacturer's specification (which can often be quite crap, my 750 Transalp as an example...). Have a chat with a supension specialist (I heartily recommend K-Tech from personal experience), the answer to a comfortable ride may not be that far away?

And yes I do wish it sounded like a Lancaster I was so lucky there I know it was not a brilliant video or pictures but I had to be quick  :😂
And I will have a look at K-Tech and get a price thank you 👍

When I bought the Sportster it came with a Kemi Moto Rack fitted, I also got the original bodywork with the bike.
I have never used it or really liked it so I took it off tonight, and refitted the original bodywork, I think it looks a lot better with the rack removed.
