Cheers mate, really happy with it. The extra legroom makes all the difference, especially with the SW Motech footpegs which are 15mm lower. I'll need to adjust the brake pedal down a bit but other than that it's all good. I've now been able to finish off the wiring, now I know how much space I have and where under the seat. I've used an Oxford power connector block to keep things nice & tidy. Everything works, which is nice.

Next up is the Victory, oil & filter change and a good check over  :thumb:

Today, I got out on the bike for the first time this year since I've done all the mod's. Wow, the K-Tech suspension has completely transformed the bike ! Gone is the wallowy, undersprung Transalp that I bought. The bike now glides over imperfections but at the same time has lovelly plush damping to control and contain the suspension movement. Nice sharp steering, no more vagueness at the front end and no more rear 'squatting' under power. Very, very impressed with it and worth every single penny. The Oxford Pro heated grips are fantastic, it was chilly today and they kept my hands toasty & warm. The silicon, rather than rubber grips seem to transmit more heat but it's not too hot and just permeates the gloves better. Again, very impressive and worth the extra over 'normal' Oxford heated grips in my opinion. The Honda quickshifter is superb and makes up and downshifts a doddle, it's very smooth and works just so well. The seat is another revelation, super comfy and the extra legroom has made the transalp all-day comfortable.

I am a very happy bunny

A whole 3hrs all to myself spare today before I had to be somewhere at 12,  so took the CBR600RR out for a rip.
Over the local " race track" a short sprint of open road with some monster corners , then the boring bit on the dual to get over the river, turned off and headed into fast b road country to avoid the 3/4 miles of 30mph due to road works.
Bit damp still under the trees/hedges ( something to be aware of on the RR it will spin it's rear at 55mph in third when you hit a damp bit ...even upright...keeps you on your toes and adds to the fun .. no rider aids on this bike ) so crossed over into Suffolk on more open roads and over to Bury.
Going to have to look for a new helmet, the  internal sunvisor on my X Lite presses into my cheeks above 120 when I have a head wind
Made it home in time ..just..and spent a good 5 mins  just looking at the RR as it pinged and dinged as the exhaust and brakes cooled down....A while since I have done that.

Took my bike for its 5000 mile service.  They said they allow 3 hours for a service so hung about, I went to the clothing department to kill some time where I found this leather jacket originally £565 in the sale £250 so I thought I’d treat myself 👍
After a couple of hours the bike went for its post service test ride. I was called to the service desk and told everything was fine with the service, but during the test ride the technician found the back brake was non existent. I said it has been like that since I had the bike 🤣 he said it had caught him out during the test ride and he wasn’t happy to let me take the bike. And they were going to check it out and repair the problem under warranty.
In fact they have another Harley Nightster with exactly the same problem so they have booked both bikes in for Wednesday.  So I have left the bike with them.

Nice jacket  :thumb: I have to say, HD clothing is top notch, I bought a T shirt from Las Vegas HD in 1997 and it was still like new when I gave it to one of my mates (who had been pestering me for it for a number of years) last year.

Thank you 2112

I actually saw these jackets in there last year, but looked at the price  :icon_no:   So when I saw them again today it was a no brainier  :happydance:

I thought the service was enough though  :icon_batterup:
The service lady rang me while I was upstairs in the clothing department, asking as my bike has done 5000 miles and it’s 2 years old in September it is recommended that the spark plugs are changed !!!!
I said no thank you they will be fine  :violence-smack:

Breathing a sigh of relief, all in spec on my Tuono 1000r.
Other than an old 250 Superdream back in the mists of time have never done a valve check before, so pleased to be able to put it back together without further action.
Took my time. Currently on day 3.
Only checked them 'cos the front valve cover gasket was leaking a bit (right at the front behind the radiator and oil coolers of course) and wasn't sure if it had been done before as I bought it with a thin service history - someone has been in there before I think as there was some dried silicon around the gasket, although that might have been an attempt to stop the leak.
New gaskets have arrived so nothing stopping me put it all back together other than the urge to go out on the Strom.

All back together. No bits left over. Started first time. Didn't catch fire. Result.

Had a day off to wait for the washing machine man to turn up, he did , on time :lala:
Can't fix that mate , don't have the switch on the van, I'll have to come back another day....... bollocks ....all free, it is under warranty.. still
So had an afternoon to my self......hmmmm.
Out on the RR , ran into an average speed camera on roadworks, 40mph going out for 7 miles  :GRR:
Decided to come back through Lowestoft to avoid it on the way back 2 1/2 hours later , just as bad , 40s and the creeping 50s  :GRR:
Should have taken the 650

Phoned the Harley dealership this afternoon.  To ask how they were getting on with the warranty work on the rear brake, the girl on the service desk ( nice girl she is stuck in the middle a bit ) she got the email up and said the technician has done an ABS service but still the back brake hardy works even though the travel is 60 mm. so as it’s a warranty job he has to ask Harley what the next step is.  She added the technician that carried out the work today is his day off  :dl_hyperhysteria:
And she will ask him tomorrow and get back to me !!  I said to the service desk girl I will just pick the bike up and you can let me know what they decide to do about it.
Because it’s a brake issue and Harley are aware of it I don’t think they will let me take the bike ?  I will see what they say Tomorrow ??

If they offer a courtesy bike, check the small print and excess amount - the dealership I worked at had a £1000 excess on the insurance on courtesy bikes.

Not an issue until someone (funnily enough, he owned an 2003 DL1000) had an attempted theft of the courtesy bike from outside his house and they wrote the bike off as the steering lock had damaged the frame... #ping# £1000 excess he claimed to have not been told about and refused to pay, collected his own bike and we never saw him again.

Thank you for that mr _diver  :thumb:

My wife thinks that now Harley have started a warranty issue with the rear brake, if I was to take the bike away without them doing more investigation and repair and something happened my insurance would be nul and void ?
