Oil and filter change today. In a radical move for me and without wishing to start an oil thread war I used https://www.westwayoils.co.uk/products/10w50-4t-fully-synthetic-motorcycle-oil-1?variant=35572648607910

It has exactly the same specifications as my usual Putoline 10/50 fully synthetic, I change the oil and filter annually and I can't see the point in paying for a "named" brand for something that will be changed long before the recommended 9,000 miles. I have done a significant amount of research on both car and bike forums and the feedback is very positive.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

I finally managed to get out on the bike after 8 weeks! I had my enforced 4 week 'suspension' from driving due to my recent heart attack and then it's been sopping wet ever since. It felt great to be out again, even if I only just popped up to Rothbury. Happy and back out again today  :thumb:

Well done 2112, another milestone reached. Did you manage to spot Gazza and his fishing tackle in Rothbury?

Did you manage to spot Gazza and his fishing tackle in Rothbury?

Sadly not, he's believed to be in Kent at the moment welcoming boat refugees ?

I had a cracking run out with my mate Matt (GS); the weather forecast wasn't brilliant but we kept near the coast and missed all the showers. We had a trundle up to Berwick-upon-Tweed via Wooler and then had run over to the 'Union bridge' (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_Chain_Bridge) which has recently been refurbished. It's very impressive to think they could build that back in 1820! We had a great run back down the coast, stopping off at Budle Bay for a look at the wildlife and then it was back through Bamburgh, Seahouses and Beadnell - all of which were rammed out with tourists. A modest 150 miles and a big grin on my face - very happy.

2112. Is that a statue of a man in the second picture and if it is (he looks ill if it is a real man) who is it? Great to see you are back out and riding, just goes to show, you can't keep a good motorcyclist down. Not a bad photographer either.   :thumb: :lala:

Good spot sir, it is indeed a statue of a man, in this case an Engineer to represent the people who refurbished the bridge, it's about 7/10th life size or maybe it's just a short Engineer? A better picture of said sculpture below. There is another on the English side which I'll photograph the next time I'm passing  :thumb:

My favourite tyre at mo.
Though since getting the 650 not so much experience of trying different tyres.Almost miss having some direct experience wise about tyres since moving from litre bikes and changing them every 3 months,if lucky!
