The SV with the crimson wheels? :bow-blue:

Slight change of plans when I saw something in the corner of a bike shop. A winter project. Something to tinker  with. A Suzuki, a V twin and doubtless another money pit. Pictures to follow.

Went to see the new baby and here it is: - new boots being fitted later today. Can't take it home yet .... needs more space for a crib.

After the visit me and Pep went to Lowestoft for fish 'n' chips. A warm calm day that was just right for bimble around on the bike.

I had one in 1995 and sold it when my GP mistakenly diagnosed my 'frozen shoulder' as chronic arthritis. Six months later, when I had sold the bike and my sail boat, a specialist administered two hydrocortisone injections and I was ready to bowl for England.

The bike had been given to me by my pal Peter who was dying and insisting that I should give my XBR500 to his other pal Keith and in exchange I could have the VX800.

Fitted a new battery, as the old one failed with no warning.
Actually it had warned me, and I did not heed the warning....

I re-located the original bars for the TS185 a couple of weeks ago: they were a bit bent, so I had a mate with a forge straighten them before they went for a thin powdercoating.

I picked them up on Monday and replaced the aftermarket bars I've been using up to now.

That's the last non-original part fixed as far as I remember.

Oh, and the original fuel cap split when I filled up just after the MOT so new one went on as well.
Seems pearl asbo orange is faster after all....

I will relay this although I got the idea from Stuart Fillingham on "Youtube".
The cover on the end can of the SV had a scratch across the top. The problem with brushed ally and stainless is that while the scratch looks awful, removing it with polish leaves a shiny patch which looks worse. I used a course heavy duty scotch cloth by swiping in one direction only. ( NOT back and forth NOR in circles) This action distributes the scratches to re-establish the "brushed finish" without leaving a 'step'.  The scratch has now gone.  Sorry now I did not take before and after photos. In truth I didn't think it would work so well. Anyhow I think it's worth having a look at Stuart's channel even though he is has Triumphs.

A breezy ride down to Bridgend to have shiny new spoked wheels fitted under warranty. I got them to throw on some new tyres while they were there.
