To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

I would love one Tall, unfortunately the entire electrical system including sensors and switches would need replacing 1st to make it 100% reliable. :icon_no:

Sam is a northerner who's known in the TL community as being one of the most knowledgeable folk out there on tl engines. He's raced them, built them and even built a supercharged TL with close to 200bhp.He's also developed the most reliable big bore kits on the market for tl engines. I know of TL owners who have driven from Norway just to take their engine to Sam for it to be rebuilt. On top of that, he's a decent genuine bloke too.

That's going to be a bloody good bike. Is the welded-in under seat tray on the subframe standard?

Nope, not standard undertray. It's a gap mod tray that I've had welded into the subframe to improve strength and rigidity as I've cut some of the rear subframe supports off. Needed a neater look without all the foot peg / exhaust hanger mounts.

This is stock, before the final breakdown obviously.

Good to see someone else embark on a project just as my latest one comes to a close.  :thumb:

Tonight I ran the SV until the fan came on just to check that it worked (it did), that the new o-rings and gasket sealed the leaks (they did) and to shift any air out of the cooling system.

I have discovered that the rear tyre has gone flat: it's leaking around the rim so I'll have to take it out & get it re-seated on the rim. At least it's not a puncture, not enough potential profit in this to justify new rubber.

Well if anyone has an old green lane project lying in the garage I would consider taking it on... my pictures would be mostly of bleeding knuckles and head scratching mind you.

Seriously though... I'm after a project myself when I get back off my biking trip in a few weeks.

First day out in the open air again:

Took the rear wheel to my mate a tyre fitter to sort out the leaky rim. Turns out it had been filled with slime but that had dried around the rim and was causing the leak, rather than fixing it. Washed all that crap out, refitted the tyre and all is well.

Next job is add it to my policy when it renews in 2 weeks on a short term basis, get it MOT'd and away to a new home.

Nice. If that doesn't sell fast, especially at this time of year, there's no hope for the future of biking.

Small update on Project TL1000r:

Needed to strip the wheels in prep for paint. Had a go at removing Tyres.... squeaky bum time when the beed bracker gets so close to the wheel though!
Also spent a few hours getting all the bits together for plating next week..... krikey I'm not looking forward to figuring out where they need to go back!
On the plus side, new discs arrived and Tyres come next week so the reassembly is now maybe just a week away!

Had the day off so took Katie out for a while. This is the view from a hillside road a couple of minutes from my house, looking North.
