Finished putting the new decals on the Bandit today so she's now ready to either ride or sell. Not 100% sure which it will be yet....

Replaced the 43t rear sprocket with a 41t. It should stop me looking for 7th gear. :)
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

I took my new Harley Low Rider to Krazy Horse motorcycles in Bury St. Edmunds and met Pepper with his Fat Boy.

Pepper's Fat Boy  still upstaging me (as ever).

Some strange yet beautiful bikes  there:
Here is "Bourget" which in America originally sold for $60,000. The welded frame was so perfect it looked like it was grown rather than welded.

This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

After some long contemplation I decided the Bandit & I were just not meant for each other in a long term relationship way. It wasn't her, it was me: I just wasn't feeling the bond...

I found her a new home and said goodbye yesterday.

Easily done, lol. He said it wouldn't run, so I pulled the sparkplug out, to see if there was a spark. Turns out it was leaking fuel. Managed to get it running even after it had been on fire. His first bike is a now slightly fire damaged beta trials bike. I'll have to make him a new loom up for what little wiring there is when I replace the wheel bearings

With my regained garage space I decided that Katie could do with a service. This is where KTM's design comes into its own - none of this tedious remove the drain plug & unscrew the filter here: think along the lines of minor work; like removing the engine bars, side fairings, fuel tanks, sump guard.... Once all that is done there's 5 places to drain oil from - 2 on the oil tank, the sump drain, the filter and the oil screen.
Pic below shows how I left her tonight while I wait for the filters to arrive.

I also popped the air box open to change the air filter - with these little trumpets pointing at you & only a couple of layers of plastic in the way, no wonder they sound nice...

Ordered parts again.
Rear disc and seals this time.

Starting to get a little pissed off with the Varadero now.
So far this year it's had:
2 tyres
All wheel bearings
clutch
chain and sprockets
Pads all round

and now I've got a warped rear disc and the whole brake system need stripping and rebuilding.  :dl_smiley_banghead:

Changed the fork oil again. I'm trying a slightly larger airgap as recommended by my new German chums on their Navigator forum. It should remove some of the initial harshness. :smirk:

Might need a bit more oil in the forks. The initial harshness has improved, dives like Klinsman with heavy braking....

Removed the front sprocket in readiness of the +1 tooth arriving this week. It was horrible in there...

I'm so sorry Nail. :shy:

Ridden through the centre of London to see my step daughters in Lewisham. Rode around the Houses of Parliament, the Eye etc in great weather. Rode home in 2 hours.

A quick run down to Coldstream, over to Berwick then back up the coast. 220 miles, one tank of petrol.... it's all good on a 650 V-Strom isn't it.

Looks like a great day out. Reminds me of a couple of diving trip to St Abbs many years ago.

Took the Nail for it's MOT. Straight pass, again. The new +1 front sprocket calms the front end down in the lower gears, it's far more relaxing to ride. It's now developed an oil leak from the clutch pushrod oil seal, serves me right for stripping down the clutch roller mechanism and generally cleaning everything. :violence-smack:

Stripped it all down again, the pushrod seal is rock hard, the pushrod has a pair of grooves ground into it. I've ordered an SV1000 seal which is an improvement apparently, new pushrod and an output shaft oil seal.
