And AND AND  FFS the local twerps have decided that they can't be having people just turning up to their recycling centre ( poncy name for the tip) so we have to go on-line and book an 15 minute times slot, if one is available on our chosen day. On arrival I have to produce my phone and show them the booking confirmation email.  ### ###  . They only allow saloon cars. My Doblo is outlawed because I have removed the rear seats ( was my camper but is now a fishing tackle cart). They inspect everything on arrival. I don't blame the operatives. They have list of what is not permissable. Not more than 2 kitchen cabinets ( 3 and more is covert trade waste) and a limited number of visits in any three month period.
I'd chuck my stuff in the hedge if only they weren't already full of beds mattresses and refrigerators.

Fun at the chemists
I went to local chemists to collect my son's regular medicines
I put a chit into his GPs on Monday and here we are on Friday to collect.
"It's not ready, will you wait?
Yes
It took 40 minutes for them to pick out two packets of a named medicine
One prescription is for 28 tablets but the they come 30 in a box so the highly skilled assistant has to cut two off.
The other prescription is for 30 tablets and they come in a box of 28 and so the highly skilled assistant has to cut two tablets from another box and add then the box of 28. Of course than a Highly qualified person has to check the correct medication, quantity and dosage and another person prints off a label and stick these to the two little boxes and then they go into a small paper bag with prescription details stuck over the opening and then I am called over to collect the meds.
I pre pay in advance for a years supply of the prescription. It is a forever needed medication.
I wonder why
I can't get a years supply when I pay for it so it will save me having to queue up and wait 8hrs 40 minutes for the prescription and 4hrs 20 minutes driving every year.
I wonder why medicines are not packed in standard quantities (28 or 30)
Chaotic and disorganised.
Still, it's better than dying on a trolley in a hospital corridore waiting for a vancant bed in a ICU.

Perceived risk of overdose, maybe? Same reason you can't buy more than 2 packs of paracetamol at a time.

Careful Mr Brockett, the rozers are watching. Before you know it the hateful police will be around, telling you what a hateful man you are. Then they will say you've committed no crime but, it is a crime really because your hateful.

I'm confused myself , but I hope that helps.

Never mind that, have you seen the price of butter. It's enough to make me weep. I bet our French friends can get quality stuff at a good price though. Which reminds me to book the ferry.

Man watching tv, shouts to wife in kitchen:
"Butter's going up again!"
Wife: "You watching the Budget?"
"No, Last Tango in Paris."

I paid £2 for a block of butter and that was the cheapest I could get from Aldi.
Looks like I'm on dry butties from now on.

I'm partial to a Diet Pepsi too - but the 2L bottles are so expensive now, its almost the same price as petrol!
(2L for 2.15 in Asda, 23p a litre cheaper than petrol still. But its catching up) - pretty sure id get more enjoyment out of a litre of petrol too.

The real shocker for me was seeing heinz soup for £2.35 a tin. Almost fainted.  :-x

My 12 year old laptop, which I only use for facebrook etc and a few forums, began to slow and all systems were at 100% usage. After a few weeks of it slowing to a stop, I was going to bin it but then I checked the installed apps. Bloody Copilot has crept in and was feasting on the memory, greedy little beast. After I uninstalled it, the laptop returned to its normal speed. I checked my desktop and yes the blighter was hiding in there as well.
I knew there was problem because, at times, the mouse pointer had become uncontrollable. I gave it and the keyboard new batteries but it didn't fix it. After it was uninstalled the mouse was as smooth as a smooth thing. . Quite apart from my normal paranoid pensioner anxiety, in that I know all this stuff is spying on me, harvesting my data and influencing my shopping price options (who knew it could do that?). It makes my stuff run slow so in the end we all have to go and buy new stuff with more and more memory to feed the hungry so and so's.
If your PC starts to misbehave, check it for uninvited guests and evict them.

After updating the car's Garmin satnav a symbol has appeared - "A lightning strike inside a red triangle". It comes and goes with no hint as to what it means. The Garmin website is ( as usual) no help at all.
Has it always been there but I never noticed before?
Does it matter? (probably not)
Is it warning me that power lines cross or are adjacent to the road?
Did I used to know but those brain cells have gone on a one way cruise?

World Superbikes  :icon_exclaim: is going on with enforced  tyre changes. It's more like crazy golf. What a load of nonsense.
An honest race would be 120 minute endurance race.

I needed a new helmet so I went to see Lydia at Infinity Motorcycles in Norwich.
Flip front with a drop down sun visor any colour except pink
We started at the cheapest and worked our way up.
Ignoring the prices and just concentration on the type and correct fitment.
About six brands later the best fit was the Shoei Neotec 3. Oh! yes Lydia knows her stuff.
£589.99
How much???
Hell's bells !!
Still it has to be done. I'm fed up with helmets that don't fit very well and get worse with time.
I also bought a Richa Atomic waterproof hoodie jacket £219.99 and that just about finished off my state pension this month.  :groan:

I bought a Neotec 2 just before the 3 launched. Big discount . What are the differences between the two models?
