I avoid them like the plague. If I want over-priced crap food - or coffee - I go home :)

I don't eat meat so can't comment on most of the animal products. The fries are fine. McFlurry ice cream is the best in the UK. The staff are polite and the toilets are above average. They try hard to make kids feel welcome. They serve quite a bit of healthy stuff as well as 'junk'. On the whole I think the company is an asset and a good ambassador for the USA. I don't agree with everything American ( gun situation mainly) but but many UK based food establishments could learn a lot from the McDonalds ethic IMO. Like them or not, McDonalds is now as British as  the Union Jack.

I'm not a massive fan of the food but the coffee is pretty good and not too expensive.  When I'm out on a callout at silly o'clock in the morning it helps with the drive home.

I'm not averse to the mchockeypuck breakfast thingy. Better that little thief's heart attack for a tenner when you got up at 4 to be at a 10.00 meeting somewhere stupid. Weather spoons at 10.01 is the treat though. Fry up and a pint. You used to have to go to Smithfield or Billingsgate for that.

Eggs Mayonnaise BTW was invented to celebrate the battle of Mayon in 17-something. Froggies lost by 8 battleships to nil and said Frigate*. Could have been far more interesting. Imagine McHorseburger and chips with rum , salted cabbage and a touch of weevil.

*this was before the navy realised rum, sodomy and the lash didn't help recruit the right sort of chap. They soon replaced the rum with pink gin.

McDonalds has been useful for us on our trip..........free WiFi plus the toilets are always good! You don't even have to buy anything but guilt and riding in 30* + temps makes us buy a diet Coke (zero here) to share.  :)

May be the imminent arrival of the cockney sparrow and his drink fuelled antics..... I wouldn't dare sleep.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

I once took a big mac back to the counter, asked the young fella there if he thought it looked anything like the fresh, thick burger looking picture, he looked at the cold, limp, flat burger in my hand, said "nope, can I get you another one" he did, and it was a bit better. 5 mins later he came over to the table with ice creams for me and the girls, and said free of charge. can't moan about that.
I do like Mcdonald ice creams

I don't know if it's been mentioned before, but I can't be arsed to go through 86 pages of posts to find out... (so we're off to a good start :) )

Something which continually annoys me is the blatant piss-taking these cosmetics/ toiletries companies carry on with 'clinically proven' and 80% 'approved' adverts for all manner of shit designed to pretty up, scrape off, cover up or de-flock some crevice or other, who are now required to show their respective polling results.

These companies will have spent millions of pounds on researching how best to sell this shit to us (not to mention the costs of advertising space) but only ask 68 people whether they think it's any bloody good or not. I mean wtf kind of market research is that? I can't be sure but I think that one of them was in the high twenties (like 78% of 28 people! ###)

Personally, I think that the amount of people they should be required to ask reflects the true the amount of money spent on advertising the damn thing, as they wouldn't spend that kind of dosh unless they were pretty sure they could make it back.

That's it for now - there's plenty more but I'm saving it for later :)

So, 1 member out of 4000 plus .....

Only joking, I agree with you (so that's 2 members now) :)

95% Fat Free they say in some adverts, so that will be 5% pure lard then?

Having had a month of going to work with the sun in my face so you can't see a thing the ****hole government are now going to change the clocks to not only maintain this state for another month but confuse useless cretins by making it suddenly so dark at home time they will need to turn their lights on.

WILL NO ONE THINK OF SCOTTISH CHILDREN. They cry.

Are these the ones the drivers blinded my the sun or busy looking for idiots with no lights might hit?

Anyone suspicious the Yanks are behind the VW emissions scandal? VW were stupid to doctor the software in the first place but I think they had no choice if they wanted to continue selling their main product in the US which is ultra fuel efficient diesel cars. The  acceptable nitrous oxide levels for a diesel in the USA are one quarter those here in Europe. All vehicles are tuned to pass the test parameters yet be dirty as hello outside them. What a distorted world it will be when they all have to start riding round in their fifteen to the gallon things they bought with the compensation for damages paid by VW.

Third sentence in that post should have read -
The  acceptable nitrous oxide levels for a diesel in the USA are one quarter those here in Europe which is probably not actually achievable in the real world.

Effing barstewards who pull their eBay item a few hours before it is ended without saying they have either advertised it somewhere else or because someone offered them a certain amount with no 'buy it now' advertised anyway  :dl_soapbox:

WHY do places say they are open on their web site and then when you get there there's a (badly) handwritten sign in the window saying closed on Sundays (winter time opening) how hard is it to put that on the web page  :dl_smiley_banghead:. It's OK it's not like we've come far  :violence-smack: :violence-smack:
