Home made Screen Brackets
« on: April 24, 2012, 16:38:26 »
Some time ago I read an item about a forum member who made his own brackets so he could adjust his screen.
I've tried looking for it but have failed. Would any body be able to point me in the right direction?

The title should read screen bracket.

Excellent and thank you.

I'm having some made up, by a local fabricator. If Snowy is reading , what size bolts did you use?.

Hi dwc

The screws are:-

Black plastic screen brackets to homemade bracket are the original screws with washers and m6 nyloc nuts.

Homemade bracket to fairing are m6 x 20mm(plenty of room inside fairing)

Homemade bracket through bolts m6 x to suit thickness of bracket material with washers and nyloc nuts.

Hope this helps. :thumb:

Hi Snowy,

Thank you for the sizes.
I'd be interested to hear how the mod is performing, and wether it is living up to expectations?

An Update,

I have now had the bracketts made and they are now fitted to the bike. It has taken some trial and error to find the most suitable position. At present the screen is at its highest setting and at it's most elevated plane.

I can now ride with my goggles up without problem and most of the buffeting is now around the edges of the shoulders, but not in an annoying way.

Together with a big foot stylee stand puck it cost me £30.
