I fitted a Givi screen, a fork brace, Genuine Suzuki crash bars with, one off, stainless steel bolts, including long engine bolt and stainless everything, spacers, washers domed nuts (I don't know what they are called), lovely. Thank you again for your help with the crash bar fittings and mostly, for the dimensions and pictures.

Then, I fitted a sticker to the
top box and went for a ride to test everything. I haven't ridden far enough yet to test anything but, first impression about the screen, it amplifies engine and transmission noise and, so far, is not as good as standard.

I'll do 150/ 200 miles tomorrow and sort something out then let you know how I got on.
 What? Your bored already.   :smirk:

Took it to Morrisons. 83 miles, then to somewhere a mile further on. The extra mile didn't take an extra three hours. Garmin was lying.

I told him it was risky buying that Garmin from Dominic.  Did Rusty mention it had a saved route to Barnard Castle in very little writing, like some kind of eyesight test?
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Fitted some 30mm handlebar risers, wish I had done this years ago! I hadn't realised how much I had been stretching. Cables and wires all fitted fine, no changes required so nice easy mod.  :lala:

Managed to get some time in the garage to continue the valve clearances  :lala:
Swapped all the shims in the rear cylinder and reassembled  :fix:
I do hope my initial clearances were right as some of them are near/on the max tolerance for them  We'll find out tomorrow...

After the saga of the power problems of running two heated jackets on the 650 earlier in the year, way back before Covid, I was left with a dilemma.........it meant that there was seven connections under the battery terminals! Not ideal & a longer bolt had to be fitted to get good few threads to bite.
I had the 12v feed to the headlight relays, the optimate lead, a 12v socket for the air pump, a lead to a twin USB under the seat for charging the comms overnight, a lead to the bigpie aux relay/fuse unit and the two heated jacket power leads.
I contacted bigpie with an idea I had and he said it was possible to make a unit up. Unfortunately a virus got in the way and bigpie got involved in saving the NHS    so it has taken a while for my little idea to become real. The parcel then went AWOL during delivery but eventually reached my house yesterday.
Today I have spent a few hours in the garage fitting it.
I now have just three connections on the battery terminals, the 12v to the headlight relays, the original bigpie aux. relay unit and the new bigpie fused outlet.
Because the new unit has four fused outlets I have been able to get rid of the inline fuses on the cables that are connected to it, making it a lot tidier under the seat.
Here's a photo of the unit and one of it fitted. The new unit is on the left, looking at the photo the old relay unit is on the right.
While I had the soldering iron out I made up a plug for the dealer mode socket. Not really necessary but.......

So the new unit is permanently live? Meaning you can charge the headsets overnight with the key out. And presumably nothing else will be left connected to draw power, e.g. clothing, optimate, compressor. Neat. If the missing one turns up at our depot, I'm having it.

Top job there Mick.  Is this gizmo going into production?
Look at the clock and the calendar.
It'll never be now again.
So just get out and do it.

@ Rusty, yes permanently live. As you say only headsets left to charge overnight the other three outputs will only be used if, charging the bike, heated jackets (unplugged to get off), and the compressor as & when but can run the bike if necessary.
The missing one isn't missing, it turned up!  :thumb: plus it wasn't your boys that temporarily lost it.  :)

@ Brocket, speak to bigpie.

Ordered on Monday a Cosmo fork brace and it arrived today, very quick service and the groups discount worked so a win win  :lala:

Will fit tomorrow and have a ride this weekend to see if I can feel any difference... probably not but worth having.

Looking good Mick. You've put my wiring to shame...   :shy: I'll take this as a gauntlet thrown down for me to tidy up mine  :thumb:

I still haven't sorted my valve clearances yet...  more fun for the weekend

(Note: to self don't try to do it late at night and in a rush & accidentally rotate the engine a small amount in the wrong direction  :dl_smiley_banghead: )
