My wife has some Lidl bike thermals from about 7 years ago, and they are still wearing and performing well.

The pattern always reminds me of the old black & white tv testcard - strange what fetishes you pick up as you get older  :)

I seem to have spent a lifetime trying to find the right gloves, at any price.

Best gloves I ever had were quite light summer gloves, but totally waterproof, and came from Aldi. They easily outperformed my expensive gortex gloves!

The Sharp rating system came about as a result of the analysis of injuries and in particluar fatalities correlated to helmet manufacturers. The conclusion was that some manufacturers helmets were better than others (in spite of the BS and CE ratings) and that modifying designs would improve safety and reduce fatal and serious injuries. The response by several of the big manufacturers when their top helmets didn't score too well was to rubbish the Sharp system- sour grapes really and the makers of cheap lids that did well sung it's praises. Strange that many of the top makers new models are achieving higher ratings.... Answer when looking for a new lid is to probably check the Sharp rating, take it into account, but more importantly make sure it is correct fit. I see that M & P are selling the Duchini D619 Flip helmet (4 stars) for £49.99.

Anybody use, have tried duchinni bluetooth helmets.I have asked a friend who is coming from china next month to get me one of these peaklife satnavs with bluetooth if it is below 60 or 70 quid, at that price I would give it a try.

Went to have a look at a Duchini D909. My normal helmet size is Small, I tried that on and it was very loose. Then tried an XS and it was still too loose. I think the padding compresses too much and would compromise a good fit unless you have a large head and go for a smaller size. It could have been my head shape too, now that I think about it. Rest of the helmet reflects the price, I wasn't impressed with the visor and it's seal at all. I'm notoriously full of crap when it comes to buying things like that so others might have more mild opinions :)

I love my Duchinni 909 , sorry :)

mine is a nice fit, quiet and I like it.But I reckon it's not for most folk, cos my head doesn't fit Arai Shoei or caberg, and even though I used to be a big AGV fan, they all feel loose on me now. Maybe grey hair is smaller than brown hair or somehting,

I'd definitely buy the same helmet again, first time ever.

fair doos hutchie the main point the bloke made on m and p website was that he said the bluetooth was very poor which was my reason in buying it, I must admit that looking into this so called bike gps from china I am having second thoughts about it. Anyway last time I used satnav was to find b an b's I wonder how we all managed before  duh

Happy with ours as well. Been through torrential rain and seals fine, no worse than the best. The built in Bluetooth works fine, it still after 18 months fits snug until yesterday when I cropped my winter barnet off    and its a bit looser but the balaclava type thing I have will take up that slack. Bought and tried one of the Lidl flip front helmets a couple of years ago. It hurt my head. I think that's the nub of it, we've all got different shaped heads and one mans meat etc. Anyways the sun is shining and going to get dressed and out. Maybe a run up to Winchester or out to the New Forest, see what herself fancies. Have a good day all  :thumb:

I got the tank bag this morning. For the price it is very good. it doesn't fit very well until you put in on upside down, then magnets stick to the tank and it doesn't obstruct the steering so I am keeping mine. You also get a waterproof cover with it and a shoulder strap.

"From another forum: the actual Lidl helmet is a relabelled ROCC 620. Identical approval numbers inside the helmet and on the visor.
Even without spare visor and cushion parts, original price is 130 Euro!"

Just fond this after googleing the helmets.. I am still no better off as do not who makes the ROCC 620. Does anyone know anything about those helmets?

Used the new lid yesterday, all seems fine, just on a short journey, everything worked as it should.  Wind noise no worse than my Shoei at 70, seemed quieter at lower speeds.  Easy to get on and off, integral sun visor works nicely, very pleased  :)
