New arrival
« on: March 23, 2011, 06:20:34 »
just you let you blokes know, I'm now a daddy!

Baby Noah arrived yesterday afternoon by c-section (bum first of course!) and is doing well. Everything is ship-shape and bristol fashion, and they're even talking of him coming home tomorrow

am very proud of my wife - took the operation totally in her stride and we're both over the moon with our little boy

Now all you have to do is figure out how to strap the tiny tot on the back of the bike!

Congratulations to all three of you !   :occasion-balloons:  :occasion-balloons:  :occasion-balloons:

Now, having seen a few blokes lucky enough to experience becoming fathers, my one and only piece of advice:

Don't sell the bike!

PS. I've always loved the phrase "ship-shape and Bristol-fashion!"
"I am a dignified citizen of the area, not a fox-faced vagabond in an over-fancy hat!"

thanks everyone, just back from the hospital again, I don't know how she's coping so well with so little sleep - I'm knackered and I'm getting a night's sleep!

Congrat's on the birth of your new son. 2 of my girls came out through sun roof fashion and my youngest was natural. Birth is amazing. Oh make the most of a full nights sleep coz that will change. Enjoy

Congratulations to you both. I've oftern wondered what a sidecar would be like on a V-Strom - a nice lightweight Merlin perhaps?!!

ruth's managed some sleep over night which is more than she managed on her first night. you'll be glad to hear he pooped like a trooper yesterday, but behaved impeccably for his grandparents:

to confirm, the strom is not getting sold and it's definitely not getting a sidecar on it.. what's the point of a bike you can't lean in the twisties

Huge congratulation to you all Jon.

He looks gorgeous, and contented.

My son arrived the same way 5 yrs ago, and for the first 18mths or so, we got one-disturbed sleeps every night(probably due to the medication he was on!!   ), then it all changed. Even now, he's through wanting into our bed at 1:30, 3:30 and then 5:30am. Can't remember the last time we had a good night sleep.
Its all good though, he is the best gadget we've ever had!

Wish we could produce no.2!! :shy:

Best wishes,
Al.

Unfortunately, they grow up and start to hide in their bedrooms and disown you.
Enjoy the moment.
All the best.
