NADGERS in turmoil
« on: April 24, 2014, 15:41:39 »
OK, my Airhawk seat pad works, provided you only provide 3-and-a-bit asthmatic gasps of air into the pad  :scared-ghostface: ..........otherwise your nadgers seek refuge between the cells of the pad and start to separate when cornering  :scared-shocked: . The straps that attach the airhawk cover to the seat are crap. It takes seconds to unhook the pad one handed. Leaving the airhawk on your bike and walking away a few yards is asking for it to be nicked. The zip on the back of the cover is worse. The pad can be slip out of the cover in 2 seconds and is gone. OK, take the bleeder off the seat everytime you dismount is the answer........Costing almost 90 quid I suppose it's the only solution if you don't want it lifted but it's a fekking drag. I'm expecting the same tart that bleated at another of my posts to come up with half a dozen suggestions to'this post'. Am I bovvered ? :character-beavisbutthead:

You really should wear trousers when you ride! That should keep your tackle in order! :thumb: I looked at air hawks a while back had the same concerns over theft. After reading loads of positive reviews I have decided to save for a customised seat instead. Not sure how you're going to resolve this one.

Don't be upset by seemingly negative comments. This is one of the most genuinely helpful forums I've ever been on. I know I can come across as sarcastic but it is only ever intended as light hearted banter! ::):

I feel your pain. (Not literally).

Not just the £90.00.

I'm sending my seat to http://www.tonyarcher.co.uk/ next week for sorting.

As the tall one said , this is the most helpful and friendly forum. They let me post, win PRIZES, go on trackdays and I don't even have VStrom.

I'm heartened that I'm not the only one to suffer constricted bollocks from using an Airhawk seat. I bought one to ease discomfort on long trips on my Triumph Tiger, which had a really uncomfortable seat. But no matter how much or how little air I put into it, it left me  with that dull ache all of us have felt after a kick in the goolies.
Thankfully, my Glee has a much more comfortable seat - it's one of the reasons I went for this bike instead of the otherwise wonderful Tiger 800 - so the Airhawk is now gathering dust.

I've been though child birth, meh, it wasn't painful, a kick in the nuts though, that hurts.

EDIT must remember to stay away from this thread when the mrs is around :D

Childbirth can't be that bad as women often want to go through it more than once. When was the last time a bloke WANTED to be kicked in the nuts??

Contender for Humorous Thread-Title of the Year Award !

If we had that.

Haven't noticed any such turmoil myself, as a new-to-airhawk rider...mind you, the cold weather up here is ensuring some amount of scrotal tightening which might be helping.

I think I will only be using it on longer trips anyway, so hoying it in the topbox/pannier isn't too much of a hardship - after all, the GPS and other kit has to be stowed as well.

I think you have what Hugh Grant described on Top Gear a while back.

Goes something like this:

Certain cars play on a bad back, and the pain that ensues can be felt in different parts of the body.
The VW Golf caused terrible bollock pain... thus the syndrome was called "Golf Ball Syndrome"
