There's no more courage or skill required to ride sportsbikes than any other bike, you're in control, it's not like riding a bull. :)

I'm also discovering little lanes and backroads, there's one in particular in the Yorkshire Dales, starts a Stainthorpe, heads North, I've been riding straight past it for years, turned down it last summer on the Glee and it's like a secret garden, no traffic, brilliant.

+1 on what SimonW says. You can get lost in fabulous little lanes just 10 miles from where you have lived for years. That's what I enjoy about my Strom.

I've discovered a few tracks around the usual biker A roads that have been amazing, stunning views and all done at less than 30mph, gravel and cow sh!t everywhere so you wouldn't do it on a sports bike,  spend most of my time on the pegs looking over hedgerows trying  to work out where the hell I am!

Now we're (almost) talking 'greenlaning' '  Check out TRF (trail Riders Fellowship)

As Yoyo says, gravel and cow shit everywhere, so it's more 'brownlaning' really  :)

(Jacko - those are *exactly* the roads I mean! It's amazing what we drive past every day without noticing..)

Target fixation. I'm not condoning his riding, but the way he was riding previous to the off he could have easily tightened that turn, he saw the car and panicked, lucky chap.

It looks a lot like The Cat and Fiddle, complete with average speed cameras.

Shows how absurd those cameras are, this bend tightens to around 20mph, so what use 50 mph average.

It's a very popular place to bin bikes, I remember collecting a souvenir piece of Ducati 916 soon after they launched, he left a lot of it lying around. It just drags the unsuspecting into what looks like an nice sweeper than GOTCHYER.
