Risers
« on: April 19, 2014, 21:06:52 »
I've tried search but nothing conclusive.

I think I want some risers but don't want to faff with new lines and cables. How much rise or rise and back can I get away with on a 2005 650.

Cheers blokes.

not too sure but I think I read somewhere you can get around an inch each way but not too sure, I lifted mine by 1 inch and had no problems at all

My 2005 650 had 2" Rox risers on when I bought it and there was no cable / brake line issues.

I have a set of 26mm risers that fit the strom. I'd say they will fit with the standard brake lines but mine are braided and a little shorter than standard.

the risers fitted but only comfortably after I dropped the forks a little more.

I took them off after a few days.- I liked the extra height when standing on the pegs, but not while sitting... I felt like I was riding a Harley with ape hangers and my wrists started hurting after 10 mins.

So some people like em, I don't.   But when I fitted the things to the Deauville they stopped the pain in my bad back, and the same on the CX500ec.

Cheers for the replies, I might get one of those sets that comes with a few height adjustments.
After a 200 odd miles yesterday and had a pain between my shoulder blades and a numb bum, both of which would be good to address before my trip to Wales in a couple of weeks.

You could try £10 ones from M&P to see how they work for you before investing in an expensive adjustable set

30mm risers fit on the Glee so might work on the Wee? Don't think you could go much higher though

:text-goodpost:  Yep, 30mm is the limit on a Glee before it gets expensive...
It's pronounced 'twenty-one-twelve'

Same as the ones fitted to my 2005 and no issues. That's a good price for them as well.
