hello all !
« on: June 20, 2013, 16:42:44 »
hi everyone. I have purchased myself a secondhand v strom 650 with 8000 miles on it a couple days ago to use as my daily and only ride. I've been riding bikes for 6 years now and have come from a yamaha fz6 for 3 years. initial impressions of the bike are good. nice and comfy and just sporty enough. I was totally impressed by how this bike handles two up! loads of power. just got a new anakee tyre fitted at micheldever tyres on the front. got it scrubbed in and already had the pegs scraping on both sides one up on the twisties so theyre much grippier than I had expected they might be being enduro ish. anyway, I will be trawling the site generally lurking so thought I would say hi. cheers blokes and gals

Hi Dan and  :welcome:

If you stick a location in your profile then it helps with rideouts and local helpers if you have a problem.

Also, if you have just put the Anakee 3 on, then give us a review here as most of us still have the Anakee 2 and are looking for reviews on how the Anakee 3 performs.

It's an anakee 2 I'm afraid. The PO just put a new rear on so I needed to get the same on the front to match. I will add my location as well. I managed to pick my bike up for £2400. 8k miles, crash bars, oil cooler guard, heated grips, handguards and topbox. Is this pretty fair ? It did need a new tyre mind. Need to get an alarm/immobiliser sorted too though. My previous bike had one fitted when I bought it and I guess I took it for granted and I'm missing the security badly

Not sure how to attach an image via ipad. Anyone enlighten me how to do this via camera roll please? Condition is pretty immaculate tbf with the exception of a few slightly furry aluminium fasteners and a flakey oil cooler haha!
