Triggering hill hold
« on: April 11, 2025, 15:33:08 »

Can someone explain to me how to trigger hill hold. I needed it today for the first time but failed to get it to work so just had to use my manlyness.

I tried:
in gear + clutch in +  rear brake - didn't show in the display, not working
in gear + clutch in +  front brake - didn't show in the display, not working

It was definately on a hill. Hill hold is enabled in the settings.

This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can. Nothing travels faster than the speed of time.

Screen print from here ..... https://www.Suzuki.gr/uplds/file/downloads/v-strom-1050/product_information.pdf

It doesn't say anything about showing in the display?

If you don't already have a copy of the owner's manual, you can download a free copy from https://genuinesuzukimanuals.com/#

Pg 2-66 throught to pg 2-68 of the owner's manual discusses the Hill Hold menu selection, while pg 2-84 trought to pg 2-87 of the same manual discusses the Hill Hold steps.
And according to the manual, there is a Hill Hold indication light (see pg 2-85 and pg 2-86)   I think knowing where the light is located og the display / gauges is key. Once again refer to the own's manual.

I've used my hill hold a few times.
Clutch in, in gear, BOTH brakes applied, then just let go of the brakes.
If you then grab a brake, or use the throttle, it cancels the hill hold.
Dash will warn you when it's about to release, as you only get about 30 seconds.
