Yes. It's the visitors who complain "there are too many visitors".
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

As long as you are comfortable filtering then bikes are the best way of getting around in London, or any other city for that matter. Your route would not have taken you into the busiest bit anyway, so not such an issue. There are thousands of bikes and scooters that are parked every day around London, in fact finding a gap to squeeze yours into can be a challenge sometimes on weekdays. It is inevitable some will get lifted, but in reality it is a minute proportion. It does help if you have something that isn’t the most valuable bike in your particular parking area though. I rode my bike through central London last Friday to take part in a walking football competition in Brixton and beat the team bus from Cambridge by over an hour. It can actually be quite satisfying weaving your way around the traffic.

I have to agree with Mark .... I only use the bike to get around London and I hate to take the car.

If I can get what I need on the bike I will. If I was to use the car to go to work it would take over an hour but only 25 minutes by bike ..... No contest.

Hi all

I will admit I don't like London at all I used to go down every year for the remembrance parade all booted and suited with me medals and people were always rude and looked at me as if I was something they picked up off the street, so go to my memorial in Accrington instead .

Got to be honest & at 64 years old this will be only my fourth visit to London, two to run the marathon in the late 80's & one in 2014 to see the poppies at The Tower. We went on the 'bike to see the poppies and had no problem at all but I can't say I enjoyed my time there!
The train is the 'soft' option but if the weather is crap we'll be dry & warm!

:smirk: good point well put Andy. Plus we may well end up standing on the train for most of the journey to & from!! But never mind, the reason for going is worth it!!  :thumb:

Depends what time of day you are traveling. Having lived in London all my life id rather walk than get the train / underground / docklands light railway.
Having a choice the motorcycle wins hands down.
