Just gets worse
« on: September 06, 2018, 22:00:03 »
Sciatica is not fun, alright one minute and 500 volts down the legs the next. Then Sunday I got one of those twenty four hour viruses that always seem to affect me for a fortnight and now ...... I'm in the coughing stage.  Although strangely my back is no trouble while I am riding. Only getting on / off and walking.  My neighbour was concerned when he found me laying on the garage floor this afternoon. I explained that I am cleaning the bikes wheels and I can't kneel or stand and bend over. Still I got both wheels done on the SV and the Scooter and it only took five hours.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can. Nothing travels faster than the speed of time.

Should have cleaned under the sump while you were there.... lol
Try hanging by your hands from a beam or tree branch, grip hard and relax your body, it can entrap the nerve.

I feel you pain mate.

Forget the Doctors, find your self a good Chiropractor and have a few visits. I had to have a herniated disc removed 19 years ago, I'd been fine until this May when I did some work on the car and caused some more damage. This time it was the scar tissue on the nerve. I had half a dozen appointments and its just about sorted, I also use the pads with https://www.revitive.com/revitive-advanced/ whilst I'm listening to the Archers.

Kneeling down is the killer though.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Growing old is not for the feint hearted; thrashing your bike around the lanes takes all your woes away (until you stop). :old:

Feel your pain - I've had sciatica regularily for the past ten years, biggest problem is driving my car, main reason I moved to a V-Strom. I went to a chiroprator for about a year which helped a bit. When she moved away I couldn't find another chiropractor who could help as much, on top of that I bust my neck and back dismounting my mountain bike akwardly. A few years of doing the rounds of different chiropractors and sports massuers I finally got respite by going to a woman who does the "Bowen Technique". Find someone in your area who does this and give it a try it has helped me with more than my sciatica I do get the odd twinge but that's to be expected working as a gardener. I honestly can't recommend this treatment enough it works on pressure points and seems laughable that it will have any affect at all, but believe me it works.
