"The Young Ones" was my first real experience of the alternate comedy that was starting to appear when I was but a young one myself. Scumbag College on University Challenge was really funny.

And Alan Beresford B'stard - That was great too.

There couldn't have been a Vyvyan without a Rick.
Tall, Dark and Handsome (In 1987) - Just tall now !!

Bit of a shock wasn't it. I grew up watching The Young Ones, funniest thing I ever watched in my teens. RIP Rik.

A real shame.
He had some brain damage from a quad bike accident about 1998 and suffered severe loss of memory.
But I hate it when folk that young go so early.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

A terrible shame. Like many have said, I fondly remember watching the young ones and waiting eagerly for every new episode which would undoubtedly be the topic of conversation the next day.

Then "Bottom" Which I still find eye wateringly hilarious! All the other great characters are hard to forget, B'stard, Flasheart, Richard Rich

A sad loss

I had the pleasure of seeing bottom live at the theater a while bag and both rik and ade were amazing. Such brilliant comic minds able to turn on a penny if any line went wrong.

I shall think back to his lord flasheart with fondness
