the Suzuki ones have an issue with them ie stress fractures caused by vibrations. search the forum and you will find the article covering this

Those are just engine bars, the side fairings would still get damaged in a fall, even at slow speed. Condiser engine bars that come up high on the side as that's where these bikes touch when they fall over (don't ask how I know or how many times :shy: )

ps. He's got a Vee, Suzuki don't do bars for them, the vibration fractures point is also invalidated because of that.

Really ..? , is this recent ? . I bought my "Suzuki crash bars" for my Vee about a year ago .

Problem seems to affect the AL2 onwards (Glee).

If you have vibration issues at 4700 RPM ring Suzuki customer services and complain. The bars are unfit for purpose if you are suffering to live with them (and obviously flawed in their design as they have been withdrawn from sale, would this be the same issue we have been harping on about for the past 2 years perhaps??). They told me to take them off , I suggested they were there for a purpose to protect the bike. Whilst they will not refund you or replace them you might be able to get something for your troubles. I did.

kwackboy, I couldn't find any on the Suzuki website last night? If you find how to buy them for the Vee, link them for the OP so he knows how to get hold of them.

I've already looked for the stock ones for the DL1000, but can't see them anywhere.

I've been doing some investigation for engine bars that fit a 2006 Wee and Vee . Both sets of engine bars are genuine Suzuki and come in black .
Fowlers of Bristol have engine bars for the wee @ £77.78 +vat , part number 990d027g00030 .
They also have bars for the Vee @ £75.65 +vat , part number 990d006g00035.
