I had a Clymer for the VN1500. When I changed a camchain tensioner, the manual had the three ball-bearing "sprag" collar, the spring and the ratchet and pawl all working against each other to produce a solid, one-adjustable  device. Scratched my head for two days, took it round to various engine-building mates, and yep - Clymer got it wrong.

In my view, Haynes took a dive when they  changed the format. In the older manuals, virtually every piece of relevant information was included in each section,  together with good, clear illustrations.  When I decide to buy a manual for the bike, I will most likely go for the Suzuki publication unless I read rave reviews of the new Haynes offering in this forum. :thumb:
